So, How would the little ASD #6 work on a single Vee bottom? Is the footprint height of the extension box any higher than a bravo? Is the steering cylinder mounted to a bracket on the side of the box? How much hp can you squeeze through this drive.
Got me thinking... Mark By the way, how is the old guy, Howard had us out in his old 40 skaker for a 100mph tour of Alcatraz and a 180mph pass down the back beach. Super guy. |

Positive trim on any surface drive, and I am including BRAVO's when I say this, is an impossible feat. When the propellers are running at the surface, there in only one way to go and that is down as when trimmed upward they are pushing air. Best scenario, imitate Peter, Reggie or Fiore. Make a boats bottom that works on its own and uses the HP to go forward rather than pick the boat's nose up and waste HP which cost speed. Couldnīt agree more... |

The new Skaters at the factory are incredible. The one's with Arnesons are awesome. That new 46 is Sweet.

I was just told yesterday that the Arneson's on a Nortech cat runs flatter and handles better than the #6. There was no porpoising at all. This was on a Yanmar 440 36 that went 96 mph. On my next project Im thinking of the 485's and ligher layup, possibly 102..Jeff

Howabout waiting a bit when Marintech(?) gets their Duramax mapped...are talking about 500+ diesel power...

Only 500?
I was told last week 700-750 is what they are pushing for. I don't know how reliable this will be, but 850 ish lbs and 700 hp is a winner. That would be some 36% more torque than a 525 makes. |

Rik you have data from a few days later than me then, the baseline was according to them 500 plus before mapping. (thinking of Spanking Mercs 525 royally at LEAST I think)
HotRod ran an article also about Gale Banks own version for land use..650hp with an aftermarket steel crank Carillos New intakes and Twin Turbos...check yourself. Sidewinder Also donīt count the cummins inline Six out or when going for Truly big boats (46+) think Mack Trucks 4valve monster (Twice the displacement of a Cummins 5.9 thou..) |
