We had a run before this one but there were no helicopters involved. I remember that Dan invited me along. That was a long day. I went from South Haven, Mi to Hammond, In to Chicago, IL up to Racine, WI. After lunch I went back to Hammond to drop my sons off then back to South Haven. All in my 28' Checkmate.
After that run Dan told my wife that I needed a bigger boat. Thanks Dan.
After that run the helicopter runs started, untill someone
started screwing the pilots and photographers out of money. I understand that scoundrel is gone now.
Good old days

MM does'nt do poker runs, and that was'nt a poker run either. Just a fun day out on the water with a bunch of friends, having the lunch destination on the other side of the lake.
Sommers, you remember Roger 1 running that Checkmate? He always showed up no matter how rough the lake was. His balls are about as big as his arms.
And he "never" complained about how rough it was.

Frank,
I remember seeing some serious air out of your boat a time or two. One of my favorite parts on the funs runs was watching you pass me like I was standing still.
If you want to ride in a sick fast V, take a ride with Frank!
