Kenny:

Thanks, and Happy New Year to you and your family.......

My all time favorite was Rolling Thunder (After JJ of course)....... Based on the few test runs we made.....that thing would be competitive in Super Cat....Today. Probably a 135 mph boat with current SSM props and powerheads. Remember those were only 2 liter motors.

Captain America was another untapped resource......see Peter's new 32.........;)

I've got a picture of Rolling Thunder at Lake X that I will post.

Ain't it funny.

You know Rich the interesting part about the whole thing is almost all of those boats would be very bad to the bone(competitive) machines today running current power, and heaven forbid if we built some of them in full composites now, Ouch look out huh..:)

Have a good one.

Kenny:

Any of those Conquests built with today's composites would be very eye opening.......The funny thing is that we would make virtually no changes to the aero or hydrodynamics. Catamaran hull design reached a kind of peak in the mid 80's and has been tweaked only slightly since (mostly in terms of tunnel width and compression).......The rest is cosmetic in most cases.

Maybe.....just maybe...we'll give it another go one day.

Hmm food for thought??

Well I certainly agree with you on that one. I would say that a certain trio of folks putting their minds to it could put out some eye poping revelations with something on those lines Rich.
You know in my young age at the time I was hardly even near the level to understand why You two & my Dad never put together a glass production of any cats(bar the fact glass never thrilled us but anyways).
Hmmm thought, 10-20 limited production cats(hmm carbon, kevlar, prepregs, and baltek), using running wood\composite plugs for flexibility of change before molding.:eureka: -- gets my heart fluttering just thinking of it...maybee I should post some more pics to calm it:D
