whos goin on fri with the run or solo.. dont know the waters but wat to take my new boat down..... anyone i can follow?

thinking of folowing the run down but dont wanna cause any probs... and 1200 extra just aint in the budget for this weekend :mad:


any help ideas.... gettin in on wed and gonna get a gps plotter fot the boat

You know, with all the boats running spread out on the run and if you didn't want to snipe at the big dogs up front, it is likely no one would ever know you were trailing along.... Well, unless you post a pic on OSO and ask about tagging along :eek: :evilb: :D I plotted it on paper and sort of ran it on the chartplotter before we did it and even the back side is doable, it is just easier to follow a leader :cool:

Remember the crab pots are your friends as long as you don't catch one with your prop! They are always in 10 feet of water or more.

On last year's run I noticed that the channel markers were very far apart, storms may have made a few disappear.

It's simple with the GPS. Just head out under Rickenbacker bridge and follow the channel the whole way. It should be marked with a solid colored line.

the water ways are free.... dont go to the partys no tees no food nothin... but thats why i posted... dont want to piss any one off... but after the land and sea run i was the one breakin down the fpc tent and loading trailer just to help out since they gave me a ride back to my car at the hotel

hmmm... know I'll get some s%^t for this but I never went on a poker run I did not pay for... (I've done over 10) you guys have much more expensive boats and probably make way more money that I do.

I'm running a punky 26 sonic and had to split the costs with my friends.

Just doesn't seem right - anyway, opinions are like....

Don't blow by me without waving ;) - remember I'm paying for it!

It just so happens Pat is doing the Active Thunder KW PR #3. Last two times I went, a 45 Sonic tagged along and if my Nortech was done I would be doing the same. Stu's runs are great, been on many, I actually like the way he organizes them, BUT this is less confusion for me and with a new boat less out there until I would have gotten familiarized would be safer for every one involved. Pat doesnt care if someone else tags along. I'm sure the A.T. guys will give you a wave as they go by, IT'S ALL GOOD :drink: Jeff

Just come on and tag along with us A.T. folk. Probably stop at a couple of establishments on the way down. You have to stop if for no other reason than the ladies on board. :drink:

We've also got a chopper lined up. I'll turn you on to the photographer that you can deal with direct. He's on payroll for us to basically shoot 2 new boats on the way down byt he accepts gratuities! :drink:

funny thing...... this will be my first time running the boat!!!..... driving, docking, etc..... 10 min seat time is all i got!!!..... gonna go and get familiar with her on thurs..... bobby s is gonna give me the in and outs of this boat.... fuel tank switches... 2 stroke oil stuff... etc

cant wait... love an adventure

I had interests in that boat when I first saw it online and puff it was gone. Neat looking boat!

Just got a comformation from Pat that we can tag along, I"m In !! Calling Pat tommorow to confirm the 10 o clock Hillsborough departure. Just going to run down to around Islamorada and then turn back and head home. (Have to work Sat.) Again thanks pat and looking forward to a nice day of boating!!1
