I don't know if it's necessarily that.....first off, exclusivity....Cigarette has a loooooong distinguished history. When you buy a Cigarette you're buying a piece of that history, history that has made offshore performance boating what it is today. You can belittle that to purely "name recognition" but it is more than just that on the surface. There's 37 years of boat building...Anyone one else have a more impressive history? I think not. You say "in the know exclusivity" is what sells OL's but I say that is exactly what sells Cigs. It just so happens that most of the general public konws what a Cigarette is as well (due to its remarkable history).

I don't know how you can say new cigs are an "outdated" look, the hull has been updated to twin steps and the deck was just recently redesigned. I understand that is a personal opinion but in my opinion, besides the wind fairings sharper angle on the cig, the OL looks very similar to a cig.

Either way, people will debate which one is better and why and like Joe said, that is a good thing. And I will give you this, Mike is doing a lot more for the sport (through his attempt to make his company better, not like he's out there just giving back to the community, he is in it to make money) than Skip and Cigarette are doing right now.

When it comes down to it OL is one of the few boats I'd own, though, if I could afford one, I'd still have a Cig

Tank,
That is what I meant by Heritage. Cigarette like Ferarri has nothing to prove, they just have to keep evolving along with the times. I would never belittle Cigarette by any means. I am one of their biggest fans! I feel like you do, If given the opportunity to buy a new Cigarette, the only other boat I would consider would be an OL. The GTX series is real nice.
Matter of fact, if I can sell my boat I will be buying a Cigarette Gladiator or Donzi 38zrComp. I like a sit down boat.

i currently have a 37OL with a/c, a real head, a counter top and a place to sleep, and i still do 100mph. the new 39 OL still gives plenty of head room and a head, but i just can't see why they made the cabin so much smaller than my 37, i understand to lighten it up for speed. But OL should make an option like cig does for a full cabin or the covergirl. And the turn off for me in cig is that i cant get a private head and the head room is so low. I use the cabin alot and love the layout i have now, i guess i just wish they still made the 37.

Customliar,
You were just about to come off of PROBATION! You are back on and will stay on for those derogatory Cig statements. Go back to your cat!

Have you thought about going bigger??? It seems a 42 Outerlimits or a 43 Nor-Tech would work and still have the speed.
