62 and still lovin' California saltwater .....
Began boating in '67 with a wooden Cadillac inboard,
raised the kids in a 19' Ranger runabout in the late 70's & '80's,
played captain in an old 34' Tollycraft cruiser in the '90s,
began to admit my age with a 20' sailing sloop in 2000,
decided to digress in 2006 with a Baja

Just turned 59. Married 20 years and now divorced and making up for those years now! Trouble is....most of my friends are too old to do this anymore...but not me!

OMG this is painful. Bought the boat when we were 23 and 25 (38' Scarab) and we were soooo cool back then. 20 years later, we still have the Scarab. It may be leaving us soon, and I will shed tears when she leaves. We have a 42 Fountain, and its a beauty, but the Scarab, man, that boat has history and character like no other . And I (the wife) think I am ready for the cruiser. Man, that is hard to admit, wish I could have both. But taking care of two boats, that in itself is exhausting to think about.
