Re: Beach your boat on the sand? or no

most of the sandy areas here in the 1000 islands are peppered with rocks, either free ones of varying sizes, or ones connected to the continental plate...and none of them have round edges.

that being said, NO WAY. Sanding your bottom...and gouging it down to the 'glass are two different things. :p

anchored in 30" or so of water above sand I know, yes...often.

I usually walk the boat out some when leaving also as sand plays he!! with impellers and housings. ;)

Got a lot worse damage docking the boat at a dock when the bumper fell off than beaching the nose of the boat up on the sand.... Dayum, and I thought I was anal-retentive about my boat... :D

Last but not least....I WEAR SHOES ON MY BOAT!!  :drink: :drink:

Hard Water - thats great. I dont boat with people that dont know better than to do this. Nothin like hacking up your hull on purpose.

I'll never do it! Some say it's not worth more or less at resale time, but I looked at 5 boats before buying my current one. All of them had been beached and it was very obvious. They all lost a sale because of that, and I'm sure I'm not the only one that passed on them.

I'll help you beach that Nor-Tech customryder :D

I FOUND IT IN THE GADGETS FOR SALE SECTION OF EITHER POWERBOAT OR HOTBOAT I BELIEVE. I WILL CHECK THE TAG ON IT IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS WHEN I GET OUT TO THE SHED AND SEE IF IT HAS A MANUFACTURER ADRESS OR PHONE NUMBER ON IT. IT WORKED GREAT EXCEPT WHEN I TRIED TO USE IT ON A RIVER WITH HEAVY CURRENT. I BOUGHT IT IN 1999 AND ONLY USED IT A FEW TIMES. IT SITS IN MY ANCHOR STORAGE ALL YEAR WITH LITTLE USE.

LOL! me too.

It's funny, people buy REAL expensive vehicles and don't worry nearly as much about them as they do their boat.
