i heard that is on hold untill market turns around most commercial lenders are gun shy rite now will not fund the projects, lots of big developers going to be going bust real soon. Kara homes dunn already many others to follow!

Exactly what I heard as well. The Florida market, especially the Condo market is in shambles at the moment. We are dealing with many Condo developers over hear on the MS coast, the majorty from Florida and Las Vegas. I hope it all comes back. Jeff

Gilbert's was a nice lunch/fuel stop for those entering/leaving the keys. But in reality it was a dump, much of the keys are old fish camp/ trailer park like locations. They can be charming but with the exception of Hawks Cay, Chica Lodge and a few others they are mostly dumps that you wouldn't want your wife/kids to visit. For guys drinking/ fishing they are ok.

LAKESIDE RESTORATIONS

My wife & I stayed there on our way into the keys a few years ago.. We stayed in the honey moon suite, it was like 2 am & We were do tired from diving for like 18hrs that day.. The outside of the place wasn't that bad. The inside of our room though was like it was straight out of a 1970's Porno film.. It had a hot tub, Nude mural on the wall & a see thru bathroom & Shower.. Oh yeah the AC didnt work in our room that night only.. It was definitley a different kind of place to say the least .. The rest of our trip was great. We stayed in the Key Largo Westin for almost a month.. I think it is a sheraton now..

It would be interesting to see what becomes of Gilberts next time I get down there... Jamie / Lakeside
