Re: bunk trailer

The type of trailer you get depends on how much you tow. Do you tow long distance every weekend or just down the road a few miles?

Re: bunk trailer

You dont need anything fancy like a Myco for a 15-20 min. ride and to use for winter storage. Load-rite or Nextrail make good trailers for your application.

I don't mean to jack your thread but, My gold membership through paypal hasn't gone through in 2days and I can't post a new one.
I just bought a 1991 31' Scarab Excel without a trailer in LA. (I live in SF) I got a great deal on a Myco trailer that held a 1994 32' fountain Fever. I'm sure I'll have to modify the Bunks to fit the Scarab. I'd like to do it before I drive all the way down there to get the boat.
Would anyone happen to know who/where I could contact to get the hull measurements so I could re-located the bunks before I go?
Wellcraft is worthless when it comes to customer support
Thanks

CONGRATS HEATER MAN!!!!!! Lets see some pictures!!!

Personally I don't think it matters how long your drive to the ramp is. Just sitting on the trailer putting pressure on those steps is enough. Especially with a Fountain. If you look at Fountains website they are very specific that the boat should not even hang past the last bunk because it will put a hook in the bottom. Check around for manufactures that make a custom trailer for your boat. I have an Eagle (i think they are defunct now) and my trailer list my boat model and year on the name plate, fits like a glove!

Good luck!!!

Give me a call I want to come over and check this bad boy out!!!

Not sure the depth of your step, but my '99 32 'step is exactly 1 1/2". A 2x4 layed flat was the perfect make up when I was setting up my lift. Same as ActiveShack posted. The step is not a simple notch, but a difference in surface heights, which must be supported accordingly. Congrats on the boat. What power?
