I know what I will be watching tonight if all goes well..

Did anyone find out about the HD DVD one or did anyone get that dvd?? I saw it advertised, but they didn't have the HD ones where I picked up my copy today.. I wonder if the HD dvds will play on my Bose theater system (its about 6mos old)?? Does anyone know by chance, or do you need a different special dvd player for it??? Thanks J

From my previous post there is really no add'l boat footage in the "special features" of the standard issue dvd. Just wanted to make sure the director's cut is the version you buy; not sure if its HD or not.

HD is pointless for the actual movie...action scenes are supposed to be a joke but might be cool for the additional boat footage...if it exists!

Someone buy the director's cut and let us all know if the footage is there and if it's decent!

I have the directors cut that I got this morning. It has the Boat scene in the begining.. I am hoping to get to watch the rest tonight..

Good thing I didn't order a HD dvd if my new Bose dvd player wont play it.. That kinda sux though, as it's only 6 mos old!! .. aghh! Jamie / Lakeide

Donzi38ZR, Id have to agree with you.. From what I have seen it should have been a no brainer putting that in!! I'm glad I waited, at least so far anyway.. J

So with the director's cut version you get all the scenes, but I'm confused as to what I will need to be able to play it.

Just buy the standard DVD if that is the type of player you have.

They are now offering HD-DVD and Blue-Ray. Kind of like VHS/BETA back in the day. The two are competing to see who will be the next format of DVD.

However, unless you have bought the special HD_DVD or Blue Ray player, the disks will NOT work in a standard DVD player.

If I am wrong about this, someone please correct me.
