I am not sure you remember, but I have this vivid memory of passing you guys in your F1 boat on the backstretch during the last lap of the 1998 Fort Myers race. Adib had the Super Fast hanging and we were laughing our asses off as you and Brad??? were pumping your fists at us when we went by. I was thinking how cool it was, that being your first race and us having met you guys the year before in Biloxi while you were "investigating the Factory racing thing", and there you were racing your rear-ends off having a great time.
Now look at us!

I remember that Gordo's 25 Active as a full on pleasure boat sure was fast. Of course Gordo know how to run a boat very well too so that does not hurt!
Mike, what speeds with a HP500 carb were you guys seeing on the straights? I'd guess around 87 or so. I remember you all had great acelleration out of the corners. those HP500's, Bravo 1's were dialed in and that Nortech rode so straight and level.

The original Super Fast saw speeds of as high as 90.2 in freshwater St. Cloud but almost always ran in the 87-88mph range - except in the Sarasota kilo where we only ran 84. We never figured that one out. The next day, when she ran 85.5 down the beach in big water - remember Sarasota 1998? we chalked it up to the fact that she just liked to race!

Oh yeah the good old newsgroup...you had to have very thick skin back in those days on the internet. The members here on OSO would be mortified if they new they way we talked to each other!
I have my Scaralama Racing E-33 shirt and my S.L.O.W. t-shirt as well. I remember during the 1998 Sarasota Kilo Kent Perroux and I were standing on the shore and Bob Teague walked up and asked what is the deal with the Llama stuff. We never told him!

I also remember you guys that same year at the Worlds in Biloxi, screaming past us running loose and fast. Brad probably had his fist in the air that time as well, but I think I remember him saying, GAWD that looks cool! We gotta get one of THOSE!
Ahhhh, the old "rec.boats.racing.power" days. Factory LLAMA racing, S.L.O.W., making fun of BR, BK and Connie throwin smack on us guys, what a hoot. I had my SLOW decal that llamafeeder made for me on my truck until about a year or so ago.
<sigh> Ahhhh the good ole days...
