Online blower purchase gone bad - need help!
I bought a pair of whipples from Thunder Marine off of eBay back in May. I got the blowers in a timely manner, but I was a little worried about the corrosion. I had already planned on getting them rebuilt since I was buying used so I sent them off to PSE Superchargers to get them rebuilt. Well, Ed at PSE said the manifolds are so corroded they are trash, the idler and tensioner pullies are worn so bad they cannot be used... He said "I would recommend the intake manifolds, idler and tensioner pulleys, plumbing fittings and bypass valves be replaced with new from Whipple Industries located in Fresno CA." Since the ad on eBay specifically said "The photos show dust from sitting on the shelf, however this IS NOT corrosion - unit should clean up tp 95%+ cosmetically, and 99% mechanically.", I felt that the items where misrepresented. I asked the seller what they will do. Well, I've been getting the run-around. I want to get this resolved asap so I can get to work on my boat. I really do not want to have to take them to court. Any ideas?
I'll post the eBay ad, all of the emails, and the quote from Whipple if anyone is interested.
Thanks

or, have them pay the repair bill above what a normal overhaul was going to cost you including repolishing or repainting.

Hopefully you paid with paypal/credit card. I'm not sure on the time allowed, as May was 7 months ago, but if you aren't out of the time frame, contest the charges, and then see how fast they act.

yeah thats a long time, find out if you can still do a chargeback.
do the complaint thru paypal, they will say no and then you print a copy of their standard, sorry you're right but we won't give you the money response
now take that and do a chargeback with the CC company and send that in along with other documentation
been there a few times

I really wanted this to work out - I should have sent the blowers right back and contested the CC charges. The ebay protection policy is way expired. I might be able to go to the CC company, but I doubt it. It appears that the only avenue I have is court. Unless, of course, David at Thunder Marine steps up and either pays for the replacement parts or refunds my $.
