I got a guy who wants to buy my boat who lives in sweden, this guy has a friend who lives in VA who will come get the boat. I told him i only will accept cash. The guy who wants to get it from VA has the same slow american speech accent. Why would people want to buy an overseas boat, and what am i overlooking if this is a scam?
i told him no deposit no nothing, if he wants it come get it with cash

my bud sold his boat to someone over seas it was a F2 fast tect 38 525s 2001 team extra lean under 100gs
He got in to car racing, said it wasn't worth it anymore to much bull.they raced in a 24skater,30spectra,2 f2 boats 1 f1 nice guys too. being out on comp I couldn't buy it, he said 75grand it would have been mine
then I said Iwas working on getting a big sponsor for 07 not 100%though I need to be working first meaning knee replacment working, and he said gee I would have held on to the boat because his sponsors ran out to, so the boat went over there
. but if your worried take a nonrefundable deposit bal, due at 24hours before pick up all cash, meet at bank to make sure its real

There is a larger selection of powerboats to choose from in the US compared to Sweden (and Denmark where I live). So it is easier to find just the boat you are looking for in the US. Furthermore the US dollar is not so strong at the moment if you look at the exchange rate, so it might also be cheaper.

Phazar454mag is right....my Mom lives in Germany and the exchange rate is hurting her right now. Taking the exchange rate into consideration Europeans can probably buy the boat in our "American" dollars and get the freight for "free". With fuel costing $6+ a gallon not many people have performance boats over there so the market is real thin.

Boomer, Magnus Wahlstedt (Mange on OSO) is the guy that bought my boat from me. I had no problems. He bought a pantera race boat from Bruce Serhoff here on the boards last year as well. All I can tell you is that he was good on his word to me. He wired the money to my bank just as he promised. I've never met him obviously, but my experience with him was good.

I sold my Pantera to a guy in the U.K. I was a little leary in the beginning, but he showed up with CA$H. Turns out, he was a super nice guy. There is not much of a selection in Europe for them to buy from, so it is MUCH cheaper for them to buy here and have them shipped across the Atlantic.
