Man, from some of these pics, you guys have some sweet setups!

I've had a few Hi-Tides; very satisfied. Cable lifts only way to go, especially in salt.

I keep my 38zx on a 16,000lb lift all boating season on the Chesapeake Bay. To rough and cold to leave it on during the off-season- stays on the trailer. BTW , I have an ACE lift (12,500lb) lift that I removed when I got the heavier Donzi. Would like to sell it.

I use a rope and chain that hooks to a flux capacitor that in turn runs underneath the whatchamacallit and over top of the thingamajigy. I think it is called a... docmaboathydrohoister.

We have two Hi-Tide gear drive 4 post lifts, a 6,000 and a 12,000. The 6,000 is on the left and the 12,000 is on the right. This photo was taken when the OL was here. The lift on the left presently has our 23 bow rider (62mph), the lift on the right has be re-configured for the Skater.

We went through a lot of work and aggravation to get this completed. Concete and steel piers (three) and a roof over two lifts. Notice the bronze propellars hanging on the side wall. Bought some used props on Ebay for $75 each, polished to a high gloss and clear coated.

I have always kept my boats on lifts at LOTO. I've had a 12,000lb Galvalift for Speed Racer and a 16,000lb Galvalift for my Gladiator and have had abosolutely no problems. Both of them had the remote raise/lower feature.

We just purchased our first lift last summer! Dry docked for 9 years beforehand.

Mark one of the things about the elevator lifts is ,that it is one of the most expensive lifts on the market. The reason being that no poles are driven in the water. The steel i-beams end up being the poles. If it was a pole lift take the $1000 or so per pole to be driven and since those lifts take 4 poles well thats $4000 right there.Steel prices are outragious right now and so is galvanizing too.If you wanted a 12000 or say 16000lb lift i don't think it would cost $12000 or $16000.

Re: Who keeps their boat on a lift?

When the boat is at our place at LOTO she sits on the lift. It's a 12,000# Poly lift. I also have a 6800# Carvel, but I am gonna sell that this spring. Most people at LOTO leave there boats on there lifts all year. I would say more than half the people don't even own trailers. It is very strange to me that people leave there high dollar toys out all winter and I am thinking after our recent storm there have probably been a lot of people rethinking the current technique.

I for one was happy that mine was sitting on it's trailer when I started hearing about docks collapsing in the storm!!

We have a 10,000 lbs overhead cable lift for the Nordic and we are going to install a 3,000 lbs lift for the Seadoo jet boat this spring. It's the only way to go.
