For those of us that live here at Lake of the Ozarks, it is the only way to go. Assuming you're talking about having a boat that will fit on one. I have two, work great.

We have a 15,000 lbs Hydro hoist behind our Bay home in calm water a few hundred yards from the main body of water.
We prefer this style lift over our previous electric /cable lift.
It's Safer, ,faster, dead even and runs on a $50.00 vacume cleaner motor.

We first held our Gun with 8' beam and now with Myco bunk she holds our Cat with 10' 6" beam .

We have a lift and boat house behind our home on the Baneshawa Bayou, which leads to the Jordan river, then to the back bay and then gulf. This is a pic of the 04 Nortech 4300 on it, it was destroyed during katrina but is being finished as we speak for the new 4300. Jeff

in hoping my 10k lift with hold up my new-to-me bullet:(

vertually every boat at loto sits on a floating lift except the cruisers with bottom paint. i paid 6500. for a 5 year old used polylift. if you have a better/cheaper product i would think there is a huge market for them.

Usually the fresh water guys use hyrolifts and the salt water guys use some sort of a cable system.

Re: Who keeps their boat on a lift?

12,000# Hydro Hoist on Susquehana River-Chesapeak and a 10,000# cable lift in FL. Prefer the Hydro Hoist over the cable lift in almost every way! Tanks and walkways on a Hydro do require cleaning whereas cable lifts do not require any cleaning as such.

Lift prices are insane.. Gotta be one hell of a profit margin.
Thinking it may be a good biz to build/sell a good product at a fair price and become independently wealthy! :evilb:

Re: Who keeps their boat on a lift?

I sell and install both types of lifts , I perfer cable lifts over air type lifts. Less repairs and last longer. Just depends if your in marina, how wide slip is, how deep water, etc. . I have 12000 lb. Tide Tamer with 38' Fountain and Hydro Hoist PWC lift, Both works great.
