Just got off the phone with OSO Capnate. Friend of Nates from Naples in a Powerplay. Nate said that he had been looking forward to doing runs with us at Ft Myers Offshore.
Terrible loss and our hearts go out to the families. So sorry.

I am up in NJ for 2 weeks we are O.K. but our prayers go out to the families involved.

From what I have heard so far they were friends of Capt. Nate. My deepest sympathy to all involved.

If we are going to start a fund for the family please count me in.

Spoke to Bob if there is anything my family can do let us know.

Call came out while I was on duty. It took a very long time to get the correct info, all anyone could tell me was it's a"Cigarette" boat............Prayers to the family.

We came out Gordon's Pass at about 1:30 pm headed south just as they was passing Gordon's from S to N they turned around and headed south with us for a mile or two then returned to their course going north. That is too eerie. Many prayers to their families.

That's not just the nose of the boat that came off... :eek:
It appears to have snapped in half from the dashboard forward.

Reminds me of the raceboat BUCKSHOT in the Point Pleasant Race a few years back. They fortunately were much luckier.

I agree, reports from fisherman saying boat was weaving in and out of other boats at a high rate of speed. I'm sure the stories will get better and better.

The waters are very shallow around Marco. I think that it was close to low tide. There wasn't much in the height of the waves all day, as you can tell by the pictures. Just a thought.

Local NBC-2 is reporting live from a marina to which wreckage will be brought. Reporting "many witnesses". Reporting subject "doing figure 8's and jumping it's own wake". They're saying wreckage area was approx 1/2 mile off inlet/pass. Reporting "there were alot of boats around". Maybe a lotta wake...
