I saw the show too , pretty impressive how they were building the ship while still designing it. A family business / builder built it.

That ship really moves at 50 knots (57.5 mph). They even landed a helicopter on the ship at top speed. That had to be a bit scary.

Maybe the NAVY could enter it into some Poker Runs.

Saw that last night also ,pretty cool ,heard the capt say one time 55 knots ,and they wouldnt disclose how fast they really were

Brad ya think the diesels will hurt the resale?
The diesels are only used for cruising as we all know they are slow. For speed running they would switch to the turbines. It was wild to watch that thing run on TV and the big deal they made when they were switching over. I acutally laughed out loud during the program as it was almost like Captain Kirk calling for warp drive from impluse drive.

I've been on Sea Fighter. It's quite impressive. The hanger deck is huge. It's designed to operate with a very small crew and has a very advance bridge control (u-drive and autopilot modes). It had several "off-board" systems on at the time, including a couple of big RIB's. Unfortunately it was not selected for the LCS so I believe will not go into full service.
