I'm thinking I might have to pass on Cumberland this yr. Too risky if not 100% of the underwater islands.
Not sure, but is the level they are taking lower than what it usually is during the poker run time? If so, I wonder what effect it will have on the run, if they still have it.

The water will be much lower than the PR level. I went out on a Sea Doo right before Christmas with the water level at around 695 and there was a lot of lake still. It is at 690 now so 10 more feet to drop. I imagine the PR may still be possible. The average depth of the lake will still be around 50 ft. A lot of the lake will still be 70 ft. At 723(Summer pool) the lake area is 50,250 acres, at 673 it would occupy 35,820 acres which is still pretty impressive. 76 Falls will be not be accessible. But I imagine people could set up an alternate site for this as the falls itself doesn't really have anything to do with the party!

This is kinda long but explains what we've been going through. I still think we'll be back full this Spring. We've also had tons of rain this winter!

Here's something on the Lake from a press release on Yahoo today. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers should have some sort of release also I would imagine. You might have to cut and paste the link.

I think Nordic is suppose to have a east coast reggata @
Lake Cumberland this year? I wonder how that is going to effect the Nordic regatta?
?
Bummer.
Dean
Dean, 680 is not a big deal. State Dock and Jamestown Marina's will have normal operations. The East Coast Nordic Jamboree is on!

KYEE,
Thanks for the heads up on the dam and lake level.......but we don't need no stinkin' water, the party's on !
OK, if it's down to a creek, we've got 10 more lakes to move to: Dale Hollow, Center Hill, Watts Bar, KY Lake, Barkely, Percy Preist, Old Hickory, Tims Ford, Tellico, Norris, Ft Loudon,
Pickwick, woops that's 12............or, if the dam breaks, we end up flushed onto 2nd Avenue in Nashvegas so we're at Coyotes .....it's all good

I like that winning attitude Steve! I've got a house there so it got me down for an hour or two. But your absolutely right that it won't stop the fun. Eric

If you would like to keep up with what's going with the lake lowering please feel free to come and read the news section. Cumberline
keeps the current information posted there.

There will still be plenty of lake to enjoy this summer
