My 2 cents, pass on a regal built boat. I am an Outboard type guy and would look for an older 22 the is one on the other website I listed for sale that needs a motor and a little work.

Gripperone, where is the boat in TX? I can help you with a surveyor. I had a 26 surveyed near Houston. I was real happy with him. Also, I just bought a 22 last fall, paid 5k for the boat, but it had a cracked block. It was in the family for ten years, so I didn't have it surveyed. Good luck.

Ryan is correct, the Stepp built boats are better. Take your time and look around, there are usually more than a few to be had.

What is your price range? You'll find that a lot of people on this board know of boats for sale that you might not see in a classified ad. I bought my velocity from a guy on this board and it wasn't advertised anywhere. I got a good deal on a boat that was meticulously cared for and couldn't be happier with it.

I would not be afraid of a Regal Velocity, still a very good hull. Being an 86, there is a chance that it was built by Steve Stepp. You can tell by the HIN. The surveyor I used was D!ck Frenzel at Dixieland Marine. www.Dixielandmarine.com

I'm looking for something under $15000. I've been searching the web now for about 3 months and haven't found much. I wish I would have joined this forum a long time ago. Thanks for all the help.
