RiverGirl ... in N. Miami with nothing to do.....

OK, I just moved here from Southern California as you all know. Left all my buddies behind. (they better come visit in Feb. or else!!) :p
but anyway ... when not boating (is what I would choose to do everyday all day, but can't) .....sooooo what else is there too do..? I'm sure there is a lot, but since I have no clue to my surroundings, I seem to ask myself quite a bit .... as what to do today.....
There has got to be something else than going to the office everyday....

I know there is a lot of night life, soooo no need for suggestions as that gets a bit boring for me anyway ......

... who lives in N. Miami ...?
;) :D

Shorgasm 01-06-2002 11:10 AM

I'm on my way.......

No seriuosly.....a vertically challenged.....top heavy design of yours should attract some good attention down there.....

mxz800 01-06-2002 11:14 AM

now that is a guy that gets an A+ for effort. Gasm was the first to step up and try and help RG out in her time of need. maybe she never thought of using that approach   :D

RiverGirl 01-06-2002 11:20 AM

I get plenty of attention .. eeehh ... I mean my boobs get plenty of attention ..

... come on now .... I'm a good, down to earth girl ... and don't wear tight little T's every day....just every other day .. :p

BODYSHOT1 01-06-2002 11:25 AM

smooth, 'Gasm, smooth...

 ;)

..hang in there RG..are you a football fan??..the Dolphins are in the playoffs..should be a bunch of 'fins-related stuff to do..the Heat stink but you could hit some basketball games..??..in a few weeks in Daytona you'll have Bike Week, then the NASCAR boys hit town for the 500...

..there's a few ideas..good luck!! :)

bajabob38 01-06-2002 11:29 AM

Hey RG.
So where are we all meeting for the boat show????? party??????

Crazyhorse 01-06-2002 11:29 AM

You could look up a friend of mine, Bill Martz, up in Stuart. He's single and has been in boats forever.

jafo 01-06-2002 11:54 AM

Why don't you try to meet up with Randy Wild and folks next weekend? There's a bunch of OSO people going boating out of TNT. Randy's got a thread on it.
We were going to try and make it down to AT and pick up our boat and go along with 'em but can't make it that weekend. :(

Havasu Hangin 01-06-2002 11:56 AM

Hey Swamp...er...RiverGirl...maybe you can go tear up some water on one of those boats with the big fan on the back... :p

:D

BAJA WILL 01-06-2002 12:01 PM

I wish I lived in N. Miami area, still stuck in this VA snow :(

Will

soflgrl 01-06-2002 12:27 PM

Hey Rivergirl there is lots to do just need to know what you like other than boating. In North Miami there are alot of places you can go. If you give me an idea of the things you like to see or do i can let you know.
Im not in N.Miami but i am in Ftlaud so i do know the area pretty good.

Audiofn 01-06-2002 12:27 PM

I am with Troutly. Get in your car and drive. There are tons of things to do around there. :D :D

SHARKEY-IMAGES 01-06-2002 12:29 PM

Hook-up w/someone with an offshore boat and make a Bahama Run  ;)

skatermike24 01-06-2002 12:31 PM

Come to Disney and support Mickey Mouse so I can kept my job!! ;) :D :D :D

ScreaminDemon 01-06-2002 12:43 PM

FeverMike has some GREAT ideas...I think that should help the RG out! You can also pick up the Sun-Sentinel on Fridays and it has a good "Entertainment" insert that outlines just about everything that is happening in the area!

Shorgasm 01-06-2002 02:51 PM

See guys........told you she wouldn't be bored too long.......

Women like her are never alone for too long.

And that you can bet on.... ;)

RiverGirl 01-06-2002 02:57 PM

Weeellll ... the OSO poker run next weekend ... meeting at TNT...
I'm already going....

and .... since I work reeeal close .... I get to see Cigarette and the others anytime I want ... sooo, I get my fix everyday, all day :D ...you should see the view from my office..... :D

not much into football, but the NASCAR is up my alley..... ... when are they coming?

not much into the mall thing .....
BUT...don't get me wrong... I like all that fru fru stuff....its just ...eeh ..priorities, priorities...

My car won't be shipped over untill I go back to get my son. That's if I decide to keep it..anyone want a 2001 mustang??..eh ya..anyway..
Right now, I am using the company's and don't want to abuse my privileges driving around town ...
if I had a destination it might be different....

The "swim with the dolphins", water taxy, and the people watching in so. beach ... that's up my alley.
I will have to check it out.

Mickey Mouse will have to wait. If my son found out I went w/out him....Mommy would be in BIG TROUBLE!!!...

Thanks everyone... ideas are great... I just have been a bit busy, no time to investigate what my choices are..

Mike, and the others Thank You!
We will have to hook up and go boating!
shoot me an email sometime...would love to hook up w/ my OSO family members :D

Since i have arrived, its been raining. And when its raining no one wants to go boating.....
 :D

Thanks everyone ... :D ;)

oh and btw .. the OSO Event durning the Miami Boat Show is still on!!
I am in the middle of rapping things up. Once everything is in stone I will post!!

;)

Crazyhorse 01-06-2002 06:42 PM

Traviss, it's a good ting I realize my place in the world order, because I don't think this town's big enough for two oversized egos/libidos. :D :D Now, if only we could get a 90 mph speed limit mandated in the intercoastal, we'd be heroes. :D :D Aw, what the heck, let's go for 100.

thespy 01-06-2002 07:09 PM

What OSO rally ?? , I would be interested in hearing about that if it would be in the Miami area.

I hear Bermuda Bar and Grill on 163 st. is pretty hot. Also local happy hours are good to hit if your not parting down all night.
Also Ft. Lauderdale Beach, and "riverfront" for "rivergirl".

spitfire1 01-06-2002 07:14 PM

Rivergirl.......do you dive???? Some great diving down here.........

tanned fat looks better 01-06-2002 07:27 PM

RG,

If you go to Ft Lauderdale checkout the Bootlegger on the intercoastal....I think around 32nd & douglass???? I can't remember for sure, but it rocks and if your feelin' frisky they have a hotbod contest on tuesdays and saturdays. After awhile you'll prolly wish you had moved to Kansas ;)

CBR 01-06-2002 07:35 PM

Weekly snailboat racing! Crew on someone else's boat won't cost you a cent.

Likely have Wednesday after work races there or some such thing. Hey, at least it is boating.

Besides, snail boaters can be a fun bunch also. Then you can hang with both crowds and act as a conflict resolution manager. <gg>

Another option is to join a birding/outdoors/hiking/kayaking club. Awesome kayaking/camping in the Everglades in the winter.

Or, audit a course at U Miami in marine biology. Hey, I'd love to do that!

RiverGirl 01-06-2002 08:28 PM

Catmando ...
that would be Apache Bar & Grill ...
and I frequent 188th everyday... ;)

Haulover Beach is "clothing-optional"
weeell gee feverMike you forgot to ad that little tidbit in, in your list... :p

I have heard of the Bootlegger, Bermuda Bar and Grill, and Shooters have yet to go. The Riverfront ...huuumm I'll have to check that out!

Spitfire .. I have always wanted to dive, but never had the opportunity.

uuummm there is a speed limit in the intercoastal... hhuuuummm... you wouldn't think so if you see what I see .... :D  :p

oh, I am not sure about the snailboats. I would catch some serious smack from the boys .... if they knew ... maybe ill sneek away ...ssshhhhhhh

RiverGirl 01-06-2002 10:41 PM

I know you are.. :D :p ;)

BatGirl 01-07-2002 04:06 AM

I live here in So. Fla am am not board for a second. There is alot of good suggestions on here, but some of them are lame or don't exsite anymore. Bootlegger's is no longer, it is now Caribbian Bar, but still can be fun on weekends. We have lots of Poker Runs coming up, contact Stew at Fla Power Boat Club.
SoBe is always fun, day or night. Gulfstream Park is now open, great concerts on weekends, plus the best horses running.
Hope to see you at boat show, E-mail me and I can introduce you to alot of fun people.
Hey, Tito's at Cigarette is just around the corner. I know you know him. ;) ;)
He always know's where the fun is!
P.S Key West is only a few hours away.

josh76 01-07-2002 10:19 AM

RiverGirl, I just moved to Miami a few days ago and have found two great places to find things to do. Miami Lifestyle is a great magazine, that has everything from the hottest places to eat/ drink to the best shopping areas and outdoor malls. Also, check out Miami.com, which has links to some really cool places. Have you been to Coconut Grove yet? Great place to hang out for the night- bars, shops and usually outdoor entertainment. I still need to put the boat in the water, but haven't even missed it yet- been busy exploring Miami. The best thing to do is to just get in your car and drive. The drive from Southbeach to Lauderdale has so much to see and do, that you could spend days just exploring and checking out the different areas. If you need any help, email me: [email protected] :)

rick32 01-07-2002 12:57 PM

Hey Rvr Girl,
Go hang with " Philly " .... !!!!
Rick32 :D

seanclong 01-07-2002 01:15 PM

RG -- Consider yourself very lucky. I was in Miami in September and just loved it. If I had to move from where I live now, it would definately be the Miami area. For great Cuban food try the Cafe Versailles in the heart of Little Havana. I know, it sounds like a French restaurant but it really is Cuban. Delicious.

Sean

RiverGirl 01-07-2002 04:28 PM
