The boat is in Old Saybrook CT at Ocean Performance where they took it in in trade for a 39 Outerlimits. The boat is sitting inside their rack building next to our boat. I know Pat gave you a price on the boat also. It seems like a good deal. If you want any other info on the boat or current pics, I can supply them for you.
Dan That extended cockpit in the 07 cigarette is huge. You could dance naked all night in that thing.:evilb: :evilb: |
Jeff, do what you like, not what everone else likes. Don't worry so much about resale. If you like it, buy it. Come on man I want to see you at Emerald Point this year. We will hook up and have a damn ball. Buy it.

Love the orange one!

The Orange boat has never been in Texas. The boat was from NJ. All the pics in the ad were taken at Ocean Performance, the Cigarette Factory, and the Haulover boat ramp in FL where Cig test rides their boats.

Jeff, I like the colors. I don't think it looks cheap outside or the in the interior. I know how long you're likely to keep it. From the responses it appears to be a bit polarizing. Someone at Skinny's had an 05 38 gun with blue fades that was trying to sell that is in first class shape.
|
They both like nice, personally I like the wild paint job of the orange one more, the blue/silver is too blaa for me. I agree with the post of trying to find one with 700's, especially after coming from a cat, the 525 package is kinda of a slug. Either way you'll be happy.
|
The orange is too much.....I wouldnt put graphics like that on any boat. I am a grey/silver and white guy. Low key is the way to go with stuff like that as you already made the statement just arriving on the boat.

Jeff,
Have you thought about a Gun with more power than 525's?? |

This one in the classifieds looks pretty sweet.

The extended cockpit is nice, but the shorter cockpit/ longer sunpad has a cooler look to it. I guess you cannot have it all.:D
|
the 2005 38 looks nice here..

I like the Orange one for what its worth. While I and most if not all would love to have 700s the 525s will probably go 3 or 4 seasons before any major work.from what I hear the 700s need rebuilds every 50 hours. But its your boat buy what you like.

Jeff, Kevin "Skinny" Cundiff owner of MPH Motorsports in Somerset, 606-679-4000. You talked to him once before r.e. motors. Eric

When an ad says "call for price", it usually means "boat grossly overpriced for present market conditions but I might be able to trick you into buying it with zero down and payments for 60 years"
As far as the boat- What's not to like? |
I like the Blue one better...the Orange one is still nice too.

I like the orange one, but I wouldnt trust a broker period!!
I must say, knowing Phil, Blume, Marc Jacobs, and a small group of other folks who sell high-end used boats, these are the three I would feel most comfortable working with. Joe |

I would second Mark Jacobs. He knows his high performance... Good guy.
|
The orange and yellow are pretty hot boats to sit or step on during the summer other than that it is a nice boat.
|
Joe,
That is an awesome picture of your boat. The deck looks incredible at that angle. |
:D Joe you ready to sell yet?:D

One thing I don't like is how the center stringer in the bilge has hose clamps and hoses rigged on top of it. It is a great spot to stand when working in the bilge and now you cannot.

Love the look and lines bet it goes pretty good to. Doesnt look like they spared any exspence on thats build. Only differance i would have done was Konrads onstead of Braco Xr but still a good drive non the less

I've seen that application on several Cigarettes including my Tiger. It's a non issue for standing on the stringer.

Very loud colors, but as has been mentioned you can't beat a Cigarette. If I was in the market, It is what i would buy. However the 38' Top Gun model has been around for a while( mostly without the step bottom i believe) and buyng a well taken care of older model and breathing new life into it is an excellent alternative to buying the new(ish) one. IN my opinion.

Do you not stand on that stringer or do you just stand on the hoses? They appear to me to be higher than the stringer. I made the mistake of putting some stuff on top of the stringer on my last boat and I knew it was a mistake the first time I worked in the bilge and needed to stand there.
Anway, I worked on a boat years ago where the owner blew a motor. I was scratching my head for a week to figure out what happened...... Then I traced the fuel line from the motor back to the tank.... The fuel line went over top the stringer and was held in place by the rubber insulated s/s hose clamp and it was pinched because someone stepped on it. When the guy ran WOT is must have starved the motor of fuel and he melted a hole in a piston... |
