It kind of reminds me of rally racing. Open course, on public "roads", with fans gathering right along the edge of all the GOOD spots. That would be pretty cool to see.

The vids are already there. when you're watching the one posted on this thread, just click 'more from this user' and that will take you to my page. Got 2 or 3 more there. Also do a search on 'sprint boats' and you should find a lot more as well.

My dad sets the course for the sprint boats over in the Tri cities and sometimes helps out with some Idaho races. I'll call him this week and see if I can't get plugged into an organization and/or schedule. I think the only Marathon race in the states is over in Idaho. This sport originated in New Zealand. Here is the NZ website. Dig some and you'll probably find more stuff linked to the states.

They race them on the Salmon River just out of Lewiston Idaho. http://www.rigginsidaho.com/jet_boat_races.htm
Jet boats are awesome. My Idaho boat is a 19' Glastron Jet with a big block Ford, it's quick. I would like to see somebody develop an offshore boat with jet drives. They lose effenciency at high speed, but they will blow away a prop on acceleration and they handle way better.
