What system do you have?

We use a 6 place sigtronics with sigtronics behind the head head phones. We can use it 2,4 or 6 place and I have it set up to attach with suction cups. We can run it off a 12v plug in or 9v battery.

Dave clark makes excellent stuff but much more $$. We are on our 4th year and never a problem with it. We also use a large mike muff to cut down a great deal on the wind. PN 100593
Heavy Duty Microphone Windscreen

It's the same set up they recomend for open cockpit aircraft

Can someone give me an idea of what the davidclark and sigtronics systems cost? Are these self install or something that should be professionally done?

I found this. Sigtronics does seem reasonable.

What would you guys recommend for something really simple? A portable system with only 2 headsets so my wife and I can chat. No radio of stereo plug-ins mnecessary. Thanks!

I heard there is a new wireless bluetooth system available. Don't know by whom though.

Have a friend who did a whole system with a brand new avionics system for $500. He had to make up some of the harnesses though.

The Blue Tooth Setup sounds pretty cool!

Scroll down to headsets and intercoms,

http://www.gulf-coast-avionics.com
select intercoms/headsets in the red taskbar,

http://www.sportys.com/acb/Category....ID=19&CATID=94
check out the headsets and intercoms.

http://www.mypilotstore.com/MyPilotS...word=flightcom
shop this store.

Dyno borrowed my Microcom portable intercom for an extended cruise and later that year he got a portable and headsets for his birthday. My portable will operate on 2 9V batteries for about 5 days and also can be hardwired to the aircraft/boat 12V system.

Many people use aviation-based units in their boats, as I do. Many others buy custom-made marine units that have a VHF input as well as stereo and celphone inputs.

All of the portable intercoms will interconnect with handheld VHF radios and many will connect with certain VHF fixed-mount radios.

I have a mixed bag of headsets; a David Clark, a Flightcom, a Telex that belongs to my wife and a Microcom that I've had since I was in primary flight training (this one is still my favorite).
