Maggie, Our New Family Member!
Many of you may remember that Barb and I had to put down Pistol Pete, our 15-year-old toy poodle, the evening before Thanksgiving.
Well, we recently adopted an abused, rescued 18-month-old miniature poodle.
Her name is Maggie, she weighs 7.75 lbs., and loves being able to run around in the house instead of laying in the little cage she was in since she was 6 weeks old, and she loves to chew on anything she can get her little teeth on (including fingers)!
When we picked her up from the rescue facility she didn't have any vocabulary, no social skills, a fever of 104, and was afraid that everyone was going to punish her. In the two weeks since we adopted her she's learned about toys, going outside to go potty, that there's doggie food in the dish three times a day, fresh water all the time and that the vet isn't such a bad place to go.
She really enjoys all the hugs and kisses she gets and she loves to sleep in bed with her new mom and dad.

Thanks guys. She's chewing on everything that she can find. It's a good thing those DVD cases are thick.
So far she's ripped the ears off her little stuffed lamb, yanked the smiley-face off a doggie-toy cat and terrorized the new puppy next door.
