A friend with a 419 Formula with triple 500s received 3 new drives from Mercury as a settlement I believe after he blew 19drives.
It would seem with the regular Bravo you blow the floor out of the gear and usually just replace the gear. With the XR it would seem the case blows out with the rest of drive. Most of the time the case that holds the pinion blew out.
Hopefully no one is offended.

I know Bart blew a mega fuel budget with that boat but I think he was over the top with drives and motors too. I remember fed exing a motor overnight to him in NC on his way to key west! Think he even carried a spare drive in case he blew 2 so he could get the boat back on plane with 2 out of three! Wonder what he's gonna put on the nor tech if he ever gets it rigged!
