I have no problems hitting both switches at once. Both tabs and both drives both go down, I'm ready to take off!
Only down side to having switches in both handles is the ones on your pinky side will be harder to operate I'd think. |
RonS...first thing I'd do is enroll in Tres Martins driver education. Works real good for rookie drivers :evilb:

Hey I don't want this thread to get off track here Dave, just looking for some opinions without smartass answers
But I will reply to you this once:D This "rookie" driver will do the following for you: Take you out on your fountain and show you 87mph, yes I know you've never seen that but I WILL SHOW IT TO YOU. After I finish schooling you in the finer aspects of getting the most top speed out of your boat we will find some rough water, and although you do very well at flying your fountain I will show you how to do it WITHOUT HITTING THE REV LIMITERS. After we're done with that I will help you hone your navigation skills and guide you to charlevoix so that you can visit your friend Wrinkleface. For this exercise I will allow you to drive your boat as you follow my old school nonstepped formula. Don't be afraid to leave the site of land I will guide you and everything will be fine, then and only then will the bigwater demons that haunt you and make you so afraid be put to rest. :evilb: :evilb: :evilb: :evilb: |
back to the action..:drink:

I am doing my new boat with Latham CTRL-6477. Has one up/down switch in port throttle handle, and one up/down in stbd throttle handle. I am not doing an override switch, or any drive trim switches on the dash.
One hand on throttles, one hand on wheel, at all times. |

I had a long talk in the Livorsi booth at the Miami show and you might like this.
Your thumbs adjusts the drives (so obviously it is your choice if you want to have a single switch for both engines or two switches for indepenant adjustment) and your index fingers adjust the trim tabs. I had this on my last boat and can not recommend it highly enough. Being able to leave your hand on the throttles and adjust the drives and tabs without ever lifting your hand off the throttles is the best of all worlds in my opinion. Everyone that ever drove my boat raved about this. If you wanted to do both (have a single switch for both drives and be able to adjust them independantly) you might think about having the buttons in the wireless steering wheel set to activate both drives at once, and use the thumb adjustment in the throttle for fine-tuning adjustments. |
