It's the same with me. I'm about frigging blind, so Debbie has to point out far off channel markers, as well as keep an eye out for crab or lobster pot bouys. I especially like when they place them inside the marked channels, which is illegal.

They have a saying in the Keys, Blue blue go on thru, green green be real keen, brown brown run aground. When I first started boating down here I asked my neighbor for boating advise and he told me if it looks to shallow it probably is. I figured he didn't know much, but that was pretty good advise I just didn't know it. Like Cuda said turn the depth finder off.
