Are you signed up for the Jammin' on the James?

There is also a Poker Run in May in VA Beach.

Chick's in Virginia Beach is somewhat of a hot spot.
Info on both poker runs are in the PR section here on OSO.

This coming Saturday is a big annual St. Patty's Day bash at O'Leary's on Great Neck road from 1pm-2am. Also a few HRPA members get together there for happy hour every Friday night from 6-10pm, and sometimes Tuesday night as well.

Nearby on the "shore Drive Corridor" are several waterfront bar/restaurants like the aforementioned Chick's Oyster Bar, Dockside, and Bubba's, Kokomo's adjacent to Marina Shores Boatel/marina. Also near there is Hot Tuna's. Norfolk has it's Waterside venue similar to Baltimore, and Jacksonville's with a Hooter's, BlackFinn's, Bar Norfolk, Jillian's and several great Pub/Tavern's a short walk away. Over in Hampton every Saturday night is a block party.

The Ocean Marine Poker run is May 19th, Norfolk's HarborFest is mid-June, Coles Point Poker Run late June, Rappahannock River radar shoot in June, Richmond's run July 14th, AGC poker run July 28th, and the HRPA Powerboat Rendezvous August 18th.

For general boating on weekends, there's The Narrows beach in Broad Bay, eastern shore Tiki-Bar, The Cove back the intercoastal, Chippokes Plantation raftups up the James River across from Jamestown Island, Rudee's Deck Bar and Dirty ****'s (Sunday deck party's), Big Sam's inside Rudee Inlet on the south end of the Va. Beach resort strip. Salt Ponds Resturant deck party on sunday's. Plenty to do. Just keep your eyes and ears open come April and visit the HRPA website (www.HRPA.homestead.com) for a calendar of events and happenings with the local powerboat scene.

Where are you staying and willyou have your boat here?

Keep watching your thread. There will be lots of chiming in here. As soon as the weather starts to get warm enough there will be lots to do...

Big spots:
Eastern Shore - aka Tiki Bar at Sunset Beach (Kiptopeke)
The Narrows - between Broad Bay and Linkhorn Bay
Rudee Inlet - off the Va Beach oceanfront
The Cove - down the Elizabeth River past Portsmouth and near the high rise bridge
Chipoakes Plantation - up the James River past the Ghost Fleet and South of Jamestown
Jamestown Beach - also up the James River
... and many more.

There must be a party if there's a A/T around.Keep your girl away from some of the HRPA guys cause they like to throw beads at the girls.lol
Also look for a pimp daddy in a cool purple hat too.Sorry Vyper.

Around here we like to look at things as a marathon, not a sprint.

So much to do, so little time to get around to it...
