Any hull failures on Velocity's?

I know there have been several hull failures on the smaller Velocity's but have there ever been any hull failures on the bigger boats? (41/39)

Hey Chippin it,23 posts and you know so much.NOT.You should not comment when you know nothing in which you speak of.Velocity as far as I know has not had hull failures on the larger 39 and 41 foot hulls but they still have had some of the transom issues with getting water in them so if you are buying one just check the transon and as long as it is solid you will be OK.

mr_velocity 03-27-2007 12:22 PM

Nah, Panther is just trying to justify is over powered wallet draining maintenance nightmare pink apache over my chip.

39' Velociraptor came apart.

Dude, I know how hard it is for you to spend a little cash. If it makes you feel better you're going to blow the chip away and the hustler and the pumpkin. You're even going to blow away the skater and with the rough water handling characteristics of the pink bucket you're going to more than blow everyone away. When we take our weekend runs we're going to stagger everyone's start so you'll always have someone to pass.

I also hear that JC put his entire business on hold to get your motors to the dyno that way you can be the first one to put his boat on the lift at the marina, I have a call into Chuck so he'll let you go in a week early too.

Man up and put a number on the side of the boat once and for all so we can see if you have the balls to acutally run it. There's a race in LI, I'll even come out and watch :chick:

Poor guy, musta struck a nerve, ..... Please don't lecture me on spending $$, the only number you ever had was the one that someone else paid for.... nyuk nyuk nyuk....  :drink:

So now that we know Velociraptor came apart, have there been any others?

I know of one that sheered a bulkhead but the hull was ok.

mikes280 03-27-2007 03:46 PM

you know we can sit here and name boats of all makes that have broke whats the point hell in 05 at key west the new fountain came apart first time in the water so how many fountains have come apart. and hustlers and sunsations and on and on and on.

1HYPER1 03-27-2007 03:46 PM

The Velociraptor came apart because Joel stuffed the boat at about 90 MPH.There have been alot of other brands that have come apart, delaminated or what ever you want to call it.

mikes280 03-27-2007 03:49 PM

mine is a 96 280 with way more power in it then it is supposed to have and i have beat the chit out of it with no problems and i can name about 10 more and they all have BIG power with no problems.sometimes a boat breaking is due to a dumb a s s driver

sakoutis3 03-27-2007 03:52 PM

Sounds to me there are two Velocity owners with their panties in a bunch.

The point of this thread is for Panther to feel good about always having to work on his pink apache just so he can out run me

hunster 03-27-2007 04:20 PM

I have seen one here on the river whos' gel coat is very grey and getting greyer every year. It's not busted up though. I think it just needs a bath and a good compound and wax !:D

Ok, the point of the thread was;

Early this morning Mr. Velocity and I were talking and busting each others chops, like we've been doing for ohhhh the past 10 years........

Mr_V dared me to find a 41 Velocity that came apart, and as you can see he answered his own question... This came about because he said the 36 Apache that barrel rolled at 100 mph had hull damage......

So, given the superior intellect of everyone here I put up a post to find out what other boats came apart....:D

Nah, he won't be going out tonight in the big boat... He was too cheap to buy a memebership here so what makes you think he's gonna buy oil to put in the motors....

hunster 03-27-2007 05:53 PM

Remember last memorial day? Friday , Mr V looking for redline oil and hp filters? Guess he planned to sit by the pool like usual. Now he'll have a fleet of boats. How wil he decide what to run?:D

Yes, I remember it well... I was already doing an oil change on my new drives so he let me use his lift. If I didn't give him my left over synthetic oil for free I don't think he would have ran the boat at all last year. But that's what friends are for.... :evilb: :evilb:
