Two things:

First, I hope my Grandfather looked back at his life like that, because that's how I saw it.

Second, right now I'm glad I work from home in an office by myself.

Brought back allot of memories.

Growing up in Point Pleasant, NJ
Crabbing at the dock with my Granddad
Ice skating across Barnegat Bay
Chatting with my Dad about boating as a young boy
Going to the first Point Pleasant offshore race, I was about 12
Loosing my Granddad
Loosing my Dad
Studying hard in PP schools, dreaming about someday buying a boat, dreaming about
offshore racing.
Married 1977
1st daughter 1981
2nd daughter 1982
First boat, 1985, 20ft Sea Ray
1st boating with my girls, they were just 3 & 4 years old
Offshore racing, own and drive 90s
1st son 1996
1st boating with my son what he was just 2 years old.
A year of hell, sons tumor, many surgeries
Son, now 10, loves to boat and tube
Newest boat, 30 Skater, delivery in about 3 weeks
Oldest daughter is getting married, 8 weeks from now

12 boats so far, some Sea Ray, a Formula, Magnum race boat, OuterLimits, Skaters, and
allot more life left.

Life is a precious journey, and boating has been one of my many companions.

Ever drive a car across the bay? I remember doing that with my Dad as a kid. We drove on at the Holly Park Inn (Now Windows on the Bay.) There were a bunch of cars out there that day.

I thought my Mom was going to kill my Dad when she found out.

Great video! I like the last line "Life's better with a boat".

Kind of made me think back to when I started boating. It's been an adventure. Scary at times and a real learning experience. I can't imagine what I'd be like if I never had a boat.
Thanks.

AppSysCons, I too grew up on Barnegate Bay and around the Toms River, Sea Side, Point Pleasant areas. Seems like it may have been close to the same time period as you (1966-1987). Graduated Toms River North HS in '74, was married the same year 1977, our daughter was born 1980. First offshore race I saw the the Hennesy Grand Prix in the early 1970's. Remember walking around the Kings Grant Inn looking at all the boats. Last race I saw was in 1985(?) at the Lobster Shanty in Point Pleasant.

Wow. That's powerful.
Nothing like fond memories of hangin' out with dad and grampa.
All choked up.
