soft sided coolers?

Anyone ever used a soft sided cooler from american outdoors www.aocoolers.com ? I have never had luck with the soft coolers but a friend had one of these and he said it worked great. Kinda pricey for the big one but if it works.

I have five of them and they work great. They hold ice very well and they do not scratch or slide around in your boat. American Outdoors also gives you a lifetime warranty if they ever leak. Just pay shipping!

glassdave 04-03-2007 09:50 PM

i have several of them to. wouldnt have anything else. mine are about 10 years without any problems. tell ya something else i have never had anything that keeps ice as long.

h2oboy 04-03-2007 09:54 PM

I bought one at the STL boat show, so I'm pretty anxious to try it out. It took alot for me to spend that kind of money on a cooler, but everybody that I asked, really liked them.

Phantom1 04-03-2007 09:54 PM

I see OffshoreOnly embroidered coolers in the near future.:D

Panic Button 04-03-2007 10:41 PM

I have 2 of them, they're great. Don't leak, and hold ice in Vegas all weekend.

timewarp 04-03-2007 11:46 PM

They are the best you won't be disapointed.
We also have some of the Boat Tote bags, they are very durable and if you get different colors you can keep different things in different colors, for the quality the bags are very reasonably priced.

I received an American Outdoors cooler last year at one of our poker runs in the gift bag. With past luck from soft side coolers i wouldn't have bought another one but theres are great. Have since bought a 2nd one.

I have one, don't know the brand, but it holds ice very well. It's about 10 years old now and still perfect. The zip out clear vinyl liner doesn't leak a drop. We use not just for the boat but for shopping as well to keep frozen foods cold.

Knot 4 Me 04-04-2007 08:31 AM

I love 'em. Only downside was the earlier ones had undersized zippers that easily broke. Newer ones have beefier zippers. They won't honor the warranty on the zipper, just the liner.

Sydwayz 04-04-2007 08:43 AM

I have 4 of them from American Outdoors. Love and use all of them. I bought the 'family pack' several years ago that has small, medium, and large coolers. And, as Mark said above, one of the Jammin' on the James PR sponsors (& fellow AT owner) bought EVERYONE a cooler, and the 'goody' bags were actually coolers (brilliant idea BTW, thanks Stan & VA Wood Processing).

I have a broken side clip on one of mine that I need to send back for replacement.

kennyo 04-04-2007 10:53 AM

Just ordered one. Getting to old to hoist that 60 quart monster in the boat.

boss252 04-04-2007 11:09 AM

I have 2 of them and I can't say enough about the quality.

we try to pack beer and wine in one cooler, are any of the coolers tall enough to hold a few wine bottles. I see you have wine coolers but you need to use the special ice, I would prefer not to have to use that every time I want to use the cooler. Thanks Donna

Brian at AO Coolers is a great guy to work with and his products are excellent. SCOPE had AO Coolers as a membership giveaway for 2006 and they were a big hit.

sommerfliesby 04-05-2007 12:13 PM

Buy it in a box and take the bladder out. It lays out flat and you don't need a corkscrew!

Just ordered the Slim Shady cooler.... I grew up with Brian and his family in Mass. and can tell you he is one helluva good guy and a true class act. Glad you made it onto OSO. Hope we catch up at LOTO:cool:

f311fr1 04-10-2007 07:37 PM

We have about a dozen. All sizes. We pack drinks in one and food in another. They work great. My wife gives them to her sales people as an incentive for their cars.

creeper 04-11-2007 12:00 PM

I just ordered one of the 2 case models. With everyone on here giving the good praise, I figured I'd give it a shot. How long have people been waiting for delivery?

gsmith9898 04-11-2007 04:35 PM

I ordered mine last week. What are you have put on yours?

jayhawk261 04-11-2007 06:25 PM

I'm a plain jane kinda guy. It is blank. My boat doesn't have a name, so nothing there. What's on yours?

Got the eliminator logo. Had to go through eliminator to get permission. Had the colors to match the boat. The name of my boat is "don't panic" printed upside down. I had some carry bags and beach towels made up that have the name of the boat on them. Turned out pretty cool.
