new 44 Liquid Technologies

I had the opportunity yesterday to be with the group while they were testing the 44 all aluminum stepped v-hull. The finish on the boat is amazing in its perfection; my very picky brother was there and he gave the hull finish and execution a 10. The rigging is also top notch; I spent a fair while eyeballing the engine room and systems while getting specifics from the engine builder. They are still working on resetting the x dimension as the drives are still a bit low even with the spacer blocks off of the Teague lowers. They will also change props and gear ratios to get more bow lift. The boat ran 96-97 mph and in my opinion has an awful lot more speed left in it judging by the ride attitude, wetted surface and fairly low rpms. It was a pleasure talking to the owner, the boat builder and their whole team. I enjoyed meeting Tres Martin as well, very knowledgeable and has a few stories from the "good old days". Tim at Oregon Custom Marine is also a wealth of knowledge especially for a "young fella". -Jeff

850 HP and it ran 97??????????? Am I reading this wrong?

With 1700 HP I can get my Hummer to 97 on water.

I'm not the authority, just an observer but the destroked 572's(565 cid) are making closer to 700 hp and the boat is not close to dialed in yet. Different props, gear ratio, x-dimension, c/g rearward adjustment, etc and I'm thinking 115+ mph.- Jeff

A Hummer still wont go 97! :drink:

I'm not the authority either but have followed both builds on two diffent boating sites. They are still working everything out from what I've heard. This is a completely new boat from the other and they are still faaaaar from dialing it in.

I do believe the old hull went between the 100 and 105 mark with less power and they moved things around on this hull to get it to run more effecient/effectively at higher speeds. I'm guessing 115+ is what they are looking for...and what they'll see when they're done.

The first boat ran well over 115.

This boat will go after they get some different propellers and adjustments.
