Lip-ship performance

Haven't dealt a lot with Phil and his Crew there. But can attest it is the best customer service I've recieved in the boating industry.

I will definetly consider buying my next cig from him. I purchased some parts for my tiger and the lady that took the order knew what I was talking about, was polite (actually appreciated the business even though I wasn't spending 1/2 million on a new boat) a lot of people out there only pay attention when you are throwing around big money, and I recieved what I needed when I needed it.

A++ in my book Phil and if you keep treating customers like that you will be the only cig dealer.

el indio 04-09-2007 04:12 PM

well said dude...phil is cool....

thisistank 04-09-2007 05:05 PM

Phil is absolutely the best. And yes, Vanessa does know what she's talking about. If you ever need anything and for some reason cant reach Phil, she's the one to talk to.

baronmarine 04-09-2007 05:26 PM

same service for us. when i bought my top gun he treated us like we spent 10x's the money. 1st class all the way. and vanessa is the best.

WOW .... this is so nice to hear these days ! Not what I'm used to hearing from most of the folks out there these days thats for sure ! Nice job Phil and Co. !

Biggus 04-09-2007 06:04 PM

Phil runs a real solid operation. His standards are among the highest in the industry and his customer service is second to none. Phil found me my Top Gun, did not make a dime on the deal and treats me like an old friend when I stop in for a visit.
Someday I hope to be in a position to buy a new Lip-Ship Cigarette.

Kurt

Wild 04-09-2007 06:30 PM

Phil helped me sell my cig when i could not make it to miami for the weekend, took my customer for a ride on a saturday (he is not open on sat) and closed the deal and vanessa help with the paperwork - He knows ill be back soon

You weren't the only one he didn't make a dime on when he sold you your boat. He didn't make a penny on ours....Actually, lost money. I remember telling people about it on here when we got our gun and people rolling their eyes in dis-belief. It's too bad that this industry is so jaded with shady people that when someone like Phil treats you so well, it's hard to believe.

tim mccray 04-09-2007 08:49 PM

Phil

The guy is *****'n.. That's it... Period. He's top shelf and so is his work. And he's very straight up and honest, a man of his word. If Phil quotes a price on something, he sticks to it, doesn't come up with a BS excuse and change on you later. And if he says something is going to be done by a certain time, it's done. No excuses. The guy goes WAY out of his way to take care of his customers. As far as I'm concerned.. He's the best. You just don't get that kind of service. If you're thinking about buying a Cigarette, see Phil first.

RedDog382 04-09-2007 09:10 PM

Phil is a super guy. Stopped in to his place to look around last February. He set up a visit to the Cig plant even though they were closed to prepare for the Miami boat show the following week (and I'm a Formula owner ...).

JCPERF 04-09-2007 09:13 PM

Philly is top notch all the way.

HUSTLEthis 04-09-2007 10:00 PM

As Tim said, Phil is a great person to meet and spend time with...

Now all I have to do is sell my boat, so I can get one from him....:D

Tom

IDRPSTF 04-09-2007 10:10 PM

I have been at this for 9 years. I have flown out and dealt with Phil on his own dirt and I can say he is top notch.

Hot Duck 04-09-2007 10:11 PM

I agree. I have done two deals with Phil, one used boat and one new one, and I must say that he is a pleasure to work with. Everything said above is absolutely true. He is a man of his word and the work that he and his crew turn out is second to none. If you want a Cig, Lip-Ship is the place to go.

Yep, everything is as stated. I was the customer and as was said in a couple other posts, Phil did not make a penny on this sale. Strictly "helped" the sale along. I know Wild plans to buy his next rig through Phil but he still went above and beyond in helping my wife and I get this deal closed. I will definitely go straight to Miami for my next rig. Class act.

Its refreshing to see a super guy like Phil get the accolades he so deserves. I too have purchased a boat from him as well as one of Phil's personal Harley's and can attest to the top shelf service and first rate operation. He even put me up at his house both times I made the trip from North Carolina. I only wish that he would return to the race circuit as he is a legend there as well......... Stan

Dano 04-10-2007 10:04 AM

Tis true! I'd be stylin' in a Searay right now if not for Phil! It's his quality mid-west Cincinnati upbringing:drink:

Philly if you read this sorry about the gas thingy we were having fun...I did find the marina (good thing as we were sucking vapor at that point). By the way do you EVER let Rick drive his own boat?:evilb:

Dano 04-10-2007 10:05 AM

Oh and Venessa is a babe! Rhonda says hi, see ya in a few weeks!:drink:

Von Bongo 04-10-2007 10:52 AM

Phil and Vanessa have helped me a couple of times and again today. Their level of service should be the standard in the industry.

tim mccray 04-10-2007 11:01 AM

Hey Dano

Here's a tip for you.. Check the fuel gauge next time before you leave the dock....:D And use your GPS.. :D Too bad you had to turn around, you missed a nice lunch. If Rick would drive in a straight line, Phil wouldn't have to take the wheel. And Rick, don't blame the auto pilot, we know it was you.... :drink:

Phil is just giving Reggie and his boats a chance to shine on the race course! :p :D

Was in Florida about 4 years ago stopped in his shop and he sold me a couple of crossovers for the Bullet rebuild I was doing. He had had them for a while and gave me a great deal. He said well if you are doing a Bullet and have a few moment there is someone you should meet and proceeded to drive me over to meet Brownie. Phil defines customer service with looking to build relationships and future buisness and not just for the present

BROWNIE 04-10-2007 11:51 AM

I've known Philly since he was handsome. I must say that there is not a better-intentioned person in the entire marine industry than Philly. I have seen him absorb major expenses to make things right for his clients.

Dano 04-10-2007 12:48 PM

Damn you must have known him a loooooong time:D (just kiddin').

Tim,
Hey now play nice, it was uhhhhh........evaporation, yeah that's the ticket. You guys looked good running out there.

It was my understanding (and i may be wrong) that tom abraham was going to buy it as soon as he sold Endangered species - and i see it sold also, so i can just assume thats how the deal went.

Again i may be wrong

I've yet to meet Phil but he has been educating me on the Gladiators I'm interested in here as of late. I plan to pay him & Vanessaa visit next Sat.

Every Lip-Ship edition Cigarette I've ever seen is absolutly perfect with amazing details. If I were to go back to a performance boat a Lip Ship Cigarette would be it.

pm203 04-21-2007 08:25 AM

9 out of 10 ten times, when there is a Cig on a magazine cover, its a Lip-Ship. Only the best!!

ktron 04-21-2007 10:19 AM

Our next boat is a Lip-Ship. Phil is the $hit!!!

I can't wait to see the WOW boat. Rough Riders are one of my favorites!

jawbreakerkid 04-21-2007 10:23 AM

Quick question.....other than a little bit of extra paint here and there and some "Lip-Ship Edition" embroidery work, what are the real differences in the boat as compared to other Cigarettes?

The boats being dialed in is just another part of it. Most Lip-Ship boats run a few mph faster than the others out there. Also, this doesn't apply in most cases but since Phil rigged our boat he did certain things certain ways that can only come with years of experience. Phil is #1!

ktron 04-21-2007 10:41 AM

Phil is at the factory constantly. He also does a lot of special stuff for his customers. I know he has done light layups on some boats as well as different cabin configurations. He takes the extra step in making sure every detail is taken care of. Phil is an innovator too. He is always trying new things.

pm203 04-21-2007 10:53 AM

When the new 39TG was introduced, he refused to order one with the side by side pickel smoocher seats. Thanks to Phil, Cig redesigned the cockpit and the 39 evolved into what it is today. And, of course, Phil's first 39 blew the other boats away and graced the cover of Powerboat magazine and winning an award. Phil+Zul+Grafikworx is a winning formula, everytime!!

ktron 04-21-2007 10:59 AM

PM203,

I agree. He is always pushing the bar higher.

We should be on Lake Winni soon! Can't wait.
