Now that's funny right there!!!!!

I think the Raylar kit is the best bet, if you want to keep the 496. My point was that if you buy CMI headers and a prop, you blow almost all of your budget and don't get much mph in return.
The other option is to sell the 496, add the $6300 you would spend on the Raylar kit (plus the CMI's) and start from scratch. I, and others builders on here, could get you 600+ hp for about the same money. Let me know if I can help. Eddie

Are you like me and disgusted that the prices of these exhaust have gone up considerably due to demand (aluminum and steel have not increased that much since these options became available)? If I remember right, the CMI stuff was a lot cheaper when it first cam out.

I actually pulled the trigger on 2 sets of Dana manifolds until I got a call back from the guys I had doing my bottom work (a Dana distributor) telling me that the price they quoted me was no good because their cost has increased 50% since the first of the year. Demand drives price. I just have a hard time driving the price by joining in. May just have to go slower this year.

I would also like to find another option too, but even with Raylar's kit, wouldn't it be benificial to have some sort of exhaust to go with it?

Don't forget he has to install the raylar kit, or pay someone to install it. $$$

Headers and prop this year, Raylar next year :-)

I think the original question was for parts only..

I know.. Nothing is checp anymore.. Ya gotta pay to play..

I am installing the Dana exhaust on my own boat this year along with a few other small items. The bigger engine stuff is going to be for next winter.. And that is looking to be the Raylar pack..

Jamie / Lakeside

I think it's ridiculous that you can either get a Raylar kit, or a Pro-charger for $1000 more than a set of headers.
