I bought a 2000 30 cig mystique last year with twin 500 efis (no steps) on a myco with 97 hours under 100k. Love the boat and love owning a cig. The cig has the go-fast look I like, a true 30' size, and a beautiful custom boat.

Well being that I have had a boat in this size for some years now I would say it is a good choice...29 SCARAB, but I also think the 29 Lavey, BAJA, CIG, and depending on what year boat and dollar amount you want spend and where you want to use it are the questions to consider in the purchase of a boat in this class.
I've used this boat in the big blue Pacific, runs to Catalina in the Ski Race and for pleasure, SCOPE poker run, and for the most part as an "Offshore" boat it has performed, some days have been rough, but the boat has performed very well for my use.
On occasions at the lakes, No problem there is no wake large enough to question the performance ability.
I've been toying with selling it to go to a 35 or 38, so as far as a boat to start out with its been a good boat and fairly affordable due to its original quality.
You can also go on the SCOPE website and see a helicopter video of the boat running to Catalina, also there is a 29 Shockwave on there as well...Greg Rice had the 29 SW and moved up to their 34.
Hope this helps.

With no qualifying statements, this thread goes no where. There is no BEST boat for ALL applications.
Its like asking: "What's the best beer?"
or "What's the best cheese?"
Need more info, for more qualified answers:
Lake boater? River boater? Ocean boater?
Do you like to raft and party, or just get in, go fast, and then go home?
Do you overnight?
Do you have kids?
Does your wife have a say in the matter?
Single engine or twin engine?
I/O or OB?
What's your budget?
New or used?
How much insurance can you afford?
What is your bling vs. purest preference?
Do you like steps or a straight bottom?
