what about Cig versus Donzi?
|
if it had to be 30ft i would get the twin eng. Cig
|
Are you talking new or used. If used, hard to beat a Cig 28 in big water. Heavy slow boat but a wave crusher. Through some serious power to it and have a blast!
Here's a nice one: http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o16106-en.html I know there are other OSO'rs with 28 for sale. A Bullet would be good too. |

30ft Cigarette - the best looking 30ft boat ever made |
30' Predator for the cats

With no qualifying statements, this thread goes no where. There is no BEST boat for ALL applications.
Its like asking: "What's the best beer?" or "What's the best cheese?" Need more info, for more qualified answers: Lake boater? River boater? Ocean boater? Do you like to raft and party, or just get in, go fast, and then go home? Do you overnight? Do you have kids? Does your wife have a say in the matter? :D Single engine or twin engine? I/O or OB? What's your budget? New or used? How much insurance can you afford? What is your bling vs. purest preference? Do you like steps or a straight bottom? |
I see you're in Michigan..a 30 Sutphen will do you right on the Big Lake!

Best Single I/O V-bottom for performance and handling has to be the 29' Kryptonite. I am biased because I own one and currently am trying to sell it BUT I chose it for a reason when I bought it. Just for comparison, I am looking to upgrade into a 35-38' V bottom w/ twins and my short list is Donzi Zr, Cigarette, & 37 Outerlimits.

The answers are obvious. However many different boat owners are on here, is the number of reply's to be had.
The real answer will be the one you come across that you can afford....:chick: |

28 pantera, 33 powerplay, 32 Active Thunder, 28 apache(there's an unrigged new one around), 28joker(new), 34phantom(see forum), 28saber(maybe new w/ 496s), Sutphen
Those are my choices for twins in the hi 20ft-low30ft range. All will do nicely in the Florida waters. |
was going to suggest the 28' Pantera anyway, 30' easy with the swim platform, available with singles or twins, a better candidate now that you've explained your use a bit:drink:

if your going in the ocean and want a twin engine under 100k i would look at either the 32 active thunder or 35 sonic the thunder is a little faster but the sonic has a much smoother ride i wouldnt recomend the 32 sonic though high speed handeling is tough likes to chime walk also

If you have up to $100K to spend why limit yourself to a 30' boat? For ocean boating go with the biggest boat you can get. There are a lot of nice boats in that $ range. Personally, I'd look for a used Gun.

Twins (more than 415 HP) and over 30 ft will be expensive and made of unobtainium in some cases. This is a cool package good for low 70's, won't break the bank and is brand new with 2 years of warranty: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...spagenameZWDVW |
