Go figure...
They criticize OL for only racing against 1 boat in Vegas and 2 boats in Destin.
Now they want to criticize them for going after the most competition they can find. That just so happens to be in Powerboat P1 with a "True World Status" and TV coverage.
According to their website: 10 boats registered for the Evolution Class from 6 different countries.
From what I have read, OL hasn't pulled the plug completely in the States. They just want to see more competition show up at the races. The F supporters want to all say they ran off scared. I beg to differ. What is their excuse for all of the other Fountains that failed to show up for the Super Vee Class in OSS ? Don't tell me that their boats aren't competitive. Per Martin's comments in Pickwick, Little r pulled all the weight out of Miccosukee and was running the same speeds that Wazzup ran the year before. Maybe that doesn't say much for their improvements over the past year, or Wazzup really dialed the boat in a whole lot better than the factory ever could ?
Lisa said in Pickwick that she'll be back! By then hopefully Bad Boys will be ready and Fury will show up with some Muscle too.
Till that happens, I don't blame OL for not wanting to go out for exhibition laps.
2 Fountains were missing from this 1st race in Powerboat P1 ?

Was it they wanted to see what OL had before they decided to compete against them in another country?
Hopefully they can make it to the next race!
Can't wait to see how much that padded bottom can take in 15 to 16 foot seas!

From what I saw the Outlerlimits boat was running pretty well in the first race right up until they blew a water pump.
These were pretty big seas, reaching 5-6m (yep 25ft) in some places (I was racing too, so I know). They were up against much longer (43ft) Diesel boats with 1,700hp each and the Donzi with Sterling petrol engines.
Even tho they didn't complete the Endurance race, they proved during the time trials on the sunday that the boat was on the pace by beating all the Diesels and the Donzi.
Not a bad first outing. The Fountains should be out in Naples (26/27 May) so we should see some great racing!
Nice to see the Americans competing in P1!

5-6 meter seas sounds pretty rough to me. Do you have any idea how fast the boats can go in such rough conditions ?

Most of the time we could get on top of it, but in some of the head sea that was big, you had to back off to keep it level.
