I have one that I converted and replaced the pickup tube inside the tank with a larger diameter pipe for better flow rate. If someone doesn't want to go through the hassle of making one I will sell my setup for $25 plus shipping. It is the modified tank and hose. All you need to do is add the fitting for the drive (take from your old hand pump model).

I love American enginuity. That's a great idea. How tricky is it to drill and install the tire valve without leaking air? Is it a rubber valve stem, or something more rigid?
|
Rick, get a chrome rigid valve stem from an auto parts store or wheel shop. They have a nut that you tighten over the stud squishing two rubber washers together for a tight seal.
Drill the hole, and remove the shavings. Then affix the valve stem to a piece of wire and fish it through the hole from the inside. I installed the valve stem on my self-winterization 5 gallon antifreeze jug. I pressurize the jug before I start the motor and the air pressure force feeds the SWP with AF so there are no priming issues. It works great! I posted pictures of this setup some time back. Keep the compressor running while you winterize the motor on the final few moments and it keeps the AF flowing the entire time. |

Oops. Sydwayz beat me to it. :)

The pisser is when you take it out of the cold garage and put it in the warm truck without cracking the fill neck open....The heat pushes the damn fluid right out onto the carpet......Works great though. I wish i had thought of the air valve sooner...

Does the oil affect the o-rings and rubber parts inthe sprayer?
|
I have a similar system with a small portable 12v compressor.
And yes there´s sprayers made for solvents too, they are meant to stand oils and gasoline. |
I've been using the sprayer for years. Works great
