Default Boat lifts at rented slips?

At some point I may have enough money to rent a slip either at a local marina or private residence.

I'd like to use a hydro hoist or something similar......

What has been your experience?.......will they let you?

I know it's kind of a dumb question but I'm wondering what to expect.

You need to look at the contract and see if they are able to rent your slip out for transiant dockage if your away for several days. I have had that problem and can no longer keep the hoist in.

will they let you permanently fix the lift to the dock?
i used an airdock which just ties up... less expensive and you can install yourself. www.airdock.com

My slip contract flat-out says no lifts of any kind. You have to check the wording and/or ask the marina manager.

It will depend on the marina. Locally, we can use any lift we want. At LOTO, many marinas/condo complexes require a specific brand lift.
