PM 711 DIRTY DUCK back in Action
Just a news release from the little DIRTY DUCK! The little duck is a pro
modified "drag" boat. Earl Moorman (team CRC) and Slug Hefner
competed with the little duck for the 19th Annual Drag Boat Nationals held
at Lake Wappapello in Missouri. The two day race attracted some 25,000
spectators. Slug drove, Earl tuned, and they qualified #1 on Saturday in a field of
10 pro mods. The #1 qualifying time & speed was 7.005 on a 7.000 second
dial in with a speed of 169.76 MPH. After losing one boat to a crash, 9 pro
mods competed on Sunday. Dirty Duck & Hillbilly Express wound up in the
final heat (each heat consisted of two boats for the 1/4 mile.) One boat is
eliminated in each heat.. The Duck lost to Hillbilly by 2 hundreds of a
second. Close race!
The Duck finished second for the event. This was the first time in two
years the little duck has run.
Earl & Slug have raced together for nearly 20 years and both had a very
enjoyable weekend.
