What's a Good Source of Basic Info?

Like the guys said, welcome and start asking and learning. The guys who build and race boats frequent this site. You could buy a library worth of info and not beat what is available here. It's a lot of fun too.
I boated on Lake Erie for many years before moving to Florida. I can tell you that the bigger and heavier the boat the better. It's rough water and a smaller boat gets thrown around quite a bit. A 30 would work nicely though. Just my opinion.

I also boated on Erie for many years. It can get pretty snotty out there pretty quick. I had a heavy 25', and did fine. But I certainly wished I would have had something bigger - maybe I wouldn't have gotten the sh!t kicked outta me as badly.
Searching is good, but I also think its good to just ask - it'd kinda be a refresher for all.

There is no better source than right here on Oso. Type a few words in the search engine, and you can find damn near anything to do with hi perf boating. If you can't find it, just ask, and I guarantee someone will be able to give a good answer. I've been on here for six years, and the amount of knowledge on here still amazes me.

Become a member here, its better than any book or magzazine i have ever read. Any issue or question you have has probably been discussed on this website. If not, folks on here are happy to help
