How did you decide on which boat for your first?

My dad had a 2000 35 Fountain Classic (same hull as the Ex) and I really liked that boat. Rode and handled great, looked good, had a lot of cockpit room, and was easy to work on. Pretty much the perfect size boat for around here. The newer Ex models with the 496 HOs still have decent top speed plus burn a hell of a lot less gas than carb 500s. Overall a lot of boat for the money. But like I said earlier, everyone has different opinions, likes, and dislikes.
