Trim Tab Problems

When i hit my switch on the dash all i get is a Click, i put a test light on the fuse and it is getting power.

where do i go next? The kicker is it used to be a race boat, there is another set of drive and tab switched hanging in the cabin, would a wire between them and the other set coming lose make me lose my whole series,

or sinse i am getting the "click" is it a problem past the switches? ground??

try jumping at the solenoid,or use a test light to see if you have power there

if you are getting the "click" at the pump then you need to start looking there....most likely the solenoids...you can have someone work the switch as you take you test light and test out the solenoids....the top terminals are what feed the motor. One side will have power(red wire) and the other side will be connected to the motor (either green or blue wire) use the test light to see if the red/blue wires are getting any juice when you hit the switch and get the click....if they are then the motors the problem...if not, the solenoids are gone...

because the pump is locked up. it happend to me and I just replaced the whole pump. What tabs do you have?

couple of things - 1) is the battery that supplies power to the trim tabs well charged ?, often low power will just click the solenoids just like in your car. 2) carefully (remember it will make a spark) jump accross the solenoid terminals; with adequate power this will virtually always run the trim pumps. 3) if the pump is locked up open the relief valve by turning it counter-clockwise and running the pump. good luck - jeff

Boomer,

I'm coming up to do the kilo in Reggieville, so if you want to play around some I'll be on Wylie the week b4 testing. If you want to play with props or anything let me know.

Trent
