BTW, Thanks JC, my 2050hp 496's are still running great.

The extral layers of duct tape on the pistons worked just fine. I have however had to re-wrap my alpha drives as gear oil is starting to seep out. Also, your advice on "aging" old lawnmower gas was dead on. Works just fine with the higher 12.4:1 compresion ratio we acheaved with the thicker 3m tape.
