24 Superboat.
(1) 300x (2) 200's (1) 496HO These three setups run close to the same speed. Reliability?? I have a 496HO, put gas in it, change the oil, no problems, no worries. With some boats, OB vs. I/O will make a diff. With my example, i think it's a personal pref. |
fuel economy
I would have to see the actual fuel economy comparison. If you set a 45 MPH cruise speed just exactly what economy would you see with each choice.
I do not automatically buy the fact that twin 200's will beat a BBC at a 45mph comparison. |
Go with the wackers! All the above reasons plus the chances of them both breaking is remote. The single I/O breaks and you're in trouble. Then, if you have my luck you're 10 miles from nowhere with no cell service......
