New World Kilo Record

Team DVC has raised the world record to 119.14 MPH. The fastest Super Stock boat in the world raised the bar this morning. Known as the most radical departure from the existing true tunnel designs, the DVC hull received some final revisions for the Fountain Kilo's.
Throttle Up propellers has created the next generation in outboard propeller design which factored greatly in establishing this record.

2008 looks to be the launch year of the new DVC hull. Epoxy construction, bottom refinement and changes in weight distribution will make the new DVC faster and even more efficient.

Thanks to Throttle Up Propellers, the worlds premier propeller design firm. Their innovation and expertise is second to none.

Is there a website for the boats?

No website as yet. The world record boat is the first hull. It is the result of seven years of R&D. It is the most efficient, fastest, best rough water handling dual outboard boat made. Every aspect of the design has been tweaked and tested. Lee Austin perfectionist and mad scientist is the builder and designer. His shop is also responsible for building many of the AMT catamarans.
The project is finished and the hull is ready for production. SQ

Aqua Banshee 08-03-2007 04:34 PM

Steve
I don't know if your to that point yet, but could I get some specs and more info on the boat.

stevequick 08-03-2007 05:16 PM

Banshee,
If you are really interested I have something better. Lee will be back from the Kilo's on Monday, give him a call. You will notice right away that he is not a salesman. He is a designer and craftsman and the straightest shooter you will ever talk to. I'll tell him to expect a call from you.

Thanks Brad,
Imagine that it's the same boat (but with 50 or so major hull changes) you saw in 2001. The fact it's 32 1/2 feet long and 10 feet wide with stock power makes the speed even more unbeliveable. SQ

throttleup 08-04-2007 02:10 PM

Steve,

The next set has been programed and will run soon!

To anyone reading this post: Write down the phone number of Throttle Up Propellers. After you are sure you have done everything you can to get that extra few MPH from your boat, call Throttle Up. They will take you to the next level. We struggle to gain small advantages in the Super Stock class. Throttle Up's new outboard design just gave us a huge advantage. They are now doing for outboards what they have been doing for the Supercats, making them faster.

They are also the most trustworthy and straight forward people you will ever deal with.
Thanks Matt and Julie

That is true Matt and Julie are and have been (since ive known them ) great people that really care about what they do !!!!! mike

throttleup 08-04-2007 04:42 PM

Thanks Steve. From a technical standpoint there is no comparison with a Mercury Outboard cleaver and our CNC Props. The technology of our props is literally decades ahead of the Mercury cleavers.

The impressive part is our CNC props cost less than Mercury outboard props do!

We improve our product on a daily basis. With our CNC process we are able to incorporate improvements and changes immediatly into our finished product. No other manufacturing process allows this kind of flexibilty and product development. We are able to essentially incorporate rapid prototypiing into production. Each one of our propellers is a high precision machined part.

For years it has been our pleasure to work with DVC.

Thanks Dave,
Our Teams are both known for "pushing the envelope". We just push the one with very little cash in it. I'm sure you would agree that everything is relative. These breakthroughs are exciting regardless of scale.

We might finally be talking to someone who is interested in sponsoring our research project. Things will get interesting if we can secure Lee a little financial freedom.

Thanks Again

That is great to hear Steve. I am sure we both agree that hard work pays off. You all should be very proud of the efforts put forth by team DVC which will bring you all to the next level! Thank you again for trusting us along the way!

Brownie,
I know Lee is busy in the shop (as usual). So I'll thank you for him. Your articles in Hot Boat are the most interesting and worthwhile articles available in ANY powerboating publication. Please don't stop writing.
