But...they save your life !!! Standard orange coast guard approved vests help when you fall overboard to keep you afloat......Life Lines are your BEST insurance of a jacket staying on you in the event of being tossed out of a boat at high speed or falling overboard !!! The little self inflateing suspenders are only good for self insurance. They will do nothing in a high speed toss out, they are simply sail boaters stuff. You can be pretty sure the orange coast guard approved vest you buy at Walmart, etc... will be torn off of you in a high speed toss out !!!!

I also am a dealer for Lifeline if you need a price. Dave

Just curious, has anyone been given a hard time over Lifelines not being USCG approved? I'd hope that as much as some marine patrols can be real SOBs, they don't actually check for a label, and they wouldn't argue too hard against the Lifeline.

Sure will, just make sure you carry some of the $2 orange ones with you that are CG approved or they will write you a nice ticket. They hit us last summer.

I have six Lifeline ballistic style race jackets. I have been using Lifelines for 18+ years and I am a believer in the product for HP use. What is keeping the Coast Guard form approving these vest or Lifeline from adjusting their product to conform to the CG standards?

I think it has something to do with with the fact that most LifeLines are custom jackets, and in order to get CG certification every style of jacket you sell must be tested for confirmation.
My understanding is that are just too many variations of a LifeLine to make it cost effective to test everyone ...
