Well, it's a little less than two weeks before our Fun Run. Please let me know if you plan to attend by either email or phone. My phone is (321) 536-0511 and my email is [email protected]. I plan to visit Inlet Restaurant on Thursday to finalize the arrangements, so I will need to have a head count and boat count. Please respond.

Thanks,
Dail

Dean Ferry 09-04-2007 07:57 AM

We'll be there, as long as I'm here!
Dean

kimmer 09-04-2007 08:53 AM

I'll be there, but most likely just run over and meet ya's there since I live here

BajaBennett 09-04-2007 06:49 PM

It will be great to see you. We would really like for you to make the complete trip with us though. Time to see what that Scarab can do. You thought some friends from Jacksonville might join in? Have you heard from them?

Thanks,
Dail

CAVelocity 09-05-2007 07:05 AM

Looks like we're just gonna go over to disappearing island for the day. We've got some friends that will be staying in New Smyrna that weekend that will join us.

BajaBennett 09-05-2007 05:20 PM

CAVelocity,
As mentioned earlier, we expect to be at Inlet Restaurant around 1:00 to 1:30 P.M., if all goes as planned. If time allows and you are in the area, please come on over and get acquainted. Our present head count is about seven (7) boats, so there will be room. We would all like to meet another OSO member.

Dail

UNSANE 09-05-2007 05:53 PM

Dail, did you take into account the restricted area and the very shallow water off the "point" that extends out a ways? I was looking at my charts the other night and saw the depth readings.

BajaBennett 09-05-2007 06:54 PM

Gregg,
Yes, the course will take us well outside of the shallow areas and the restricted zones. How did the Fountain run last weekend up in Jacksonville? Did you have any further trouble with oil in coolant tank? Hope everything is working well.

Dail

UNSANE 09-05-2007 07:02 PM

Well it did burn oil, but none of it went into the antifreeze. I ran the boat nearly 100 miles and the river was beat up, so to smooth the ride out, I sped up and ran it around 72mph, that's 5000 rpm, for around 20+ minutes straight. Not WOT, but close. That's pretty hard for that amount of time. So I will give it a full fluid change this weekend anyways. So far, so good. But I still will put it up for sale because I'm thinking more along the lines of an Activator or similar boat that can run rough water.

Dean Ferry 09-06-2007 05:29 AM

Dail,
Headed up to Mystic powerboats today, to prep the Nordic for the fun run. The Coskers will be joining us in our boat also. I also picked up some new charts yesterday.
Dean

UNSANE 09-06-2007 06:49 AM

Hopefully these winds will die down.

502SCS 09-08-2007 10:55 AM

Ok found the thread finally :-)
Hopefully things will flatten out a bit by then
Hope to talk the other two SCS's into going.

UNSANE 09-08-2007 01:18 PM

TS Gabrielle is supposed to move off and out of the area. Right now, long range forecasts call for 1-2' seas by Tues or Wed. Hopefully that should hold.

cuda 09-08-2007 04:29 PM

I was headed west on I-4 this morning, between Sanford and Lake Mary, I saw what looked to be a Velocity, and what for sure was a Sunsation heading east, towards I-95, and I though that today might have been that run. It was around 8:30 this morning.

502SCS 09-08-2007 04:58 PM

Cuda you gonna trailer down there?

White Knuckles 09-08-2007 05:27 PM

The more, the better. It will be a fun time for all.

Hope you guys can make it.

BajaBennett 09-10-2007 09:12 AM

Only five days to go before our Fun Run. I know that I am really looking forward to this trip. At present we have seven boats for the run with three maybe's and a couple from Daytona that will meet us at the restaurant. If anyone else is interested, we will leave Port Canaveral (Grills) at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday (Sept. 15th.) come on down, the more the merrier.

It's unlikely for us. Debbie has a son who lives in a home for handicapped children in St Pete. She gets him every other weekend, and next weekend is one of them.

502SCS 09-10-2007 10:14 AM

The only thing that would keep me from doing the whole run would be if the seas dont lay down with that stuff thats going on at this time. My Scarab (being the shortest in the list so far) is great about hanging with you big boys on the flat stuff 1-2 but 3-4 gets REAL bumpy for that long of a run.
If it is lumpy I will meet you at the northern part and run the inside for a bit with ya.
Hopefuly it lays down ... Looks like a great time and looking forward to it

Let me know if your putting in up this way

Dean Ferry 09-13-2007 10:29 AM

Well,,,,,
It looks like we, (Robin, I and the Coskers) are not going to be able to make it. The Nordic is still @ Mystic, with pieces scattered all over the place. I'm awaiting Merc parts now, and Central hydrualics is still building my new external steering lines. Soooo, I we are not going to be able to make it this year!:(
Dean

CAVelocity 09-13-2007 10:40 AM

I am planning on being at Inlet Harbor before 1:00 and can help with docking. Also, anyone that would like to raft off of me is welcome to.... just as long as you have fenders!

I think they should loan you one of their boats:D My boat is now fully booked, otherwise I'd offer seats. Maybe someone else has vacancies. Beats sitting at home.

Hi, Pretty new to this, anyone taking their boats out in the next few weeks, trying to see what boats are in the area.

BajaBennett 09-24-2008 11:34 AM

We will be around for the next few weeks and I hope to get out. Dean is in California. Bruce is always around. You will usually find us @ Ski Island or running around somewhere.

Dail

502SCS 09-24-2008 12:45 PM

Ski Island .. Where the hell is Ski Island Dale?
You guys playing without me again ??

UNSANE 09-24-2008 02:24 PM

I've sold mine so there's one less boat around these parts...

homelessbob 09-24-2008 10:05 PM

SKI Island??? Never heard of it. where is it located? Is that the little island just out side of the levy?
