We use to take our boat down to Marco Island FL in the winter, but our old insurance did away with allowing that for 30 days. With our new insurance with have to pay extra to take the boat down to FL. Would love to fine insurance that would let us take the boat to FL in the winter (after huricane season). This would save the money of winterizing it and we would get to use it about 3 or 4 weeks in the winter.

We love the West Coast. From Marco we hit Naples alot and also did a trip to Key West for a few days. I have read the Fort Myers Offshore posts and it seems like they have a lot of fun runs, hope to be able to join them sometime soon.

I was actually looking at doing this exact thing but thought a piece of property with gulf access would be best investment. Secure & lock your boat on your own covered lift and rent the house out April-Oct.

I keep my boat in Florida every year.

Having lived near Tampa Bay for 33 years, and 20 miles from Daytona for the last three, I'm in 100% agreement with Cigdaze. I think the Tampa Bay area is THE BEST in the state of Florida for boating, hands down, and I have worked in nearly every city in the state, and of course check out the boating in whatever city I'm in.

South West coast of FL is great. With Ft Myers Offshore ( FMO ) we try to do a fun run once a month from Oct to April. Thanksgiving weekend and New Years Day have become annual events. No charge , just show up and we try to pick some new and interesting destinations. Hope you will join us this fall / winter.

Here you go, 10 minutes to Tampa Bay,
25 minutes to the Gulf. A great buy!

Both coast have advantages, Jupiter is nice, but you got to be in the ocean. We boat in Tampa Bay & the Gulf mostly.

Kitten, you and Gdub are probably in one of those first two pictures I posted. That was the Opba Labor Day poker run a few years back.
