1-velocity 290sc
2-fountain 29 fever
3-susation 28 ss
4-baja 275 boss
5- sonic 26 prowler

lets see who is the winner

Clay Washington 08-22-2007 08:29 AM

What is your definition of "best"? What model year(s)?

There is only one 29-foot boat in your list. The Velocity

This just seems silly...

Like Clay said, best for what?
Best for me is my Baja 29 Outlaw (a 29 foot boat).
Best for you might be something different.

RumRunner 08-22-2007 10:35 AM

You need more parameters to determine which is the best for what you want or need a boat to do.

Clay Washington 08-22-2007 11:37 AM

1) Fast on the water

2) Smooth wave-crushing ride

3) Relatively inexpensive

---> PICK TWO! :D

None of the above

28 Pantera or 28 Active Thunder

29scarab 08-22-2007 11:55 AM

HEY!!!

What about 29 Scarab!! Their awesome wave crushers...I know, I know,,,running surface is about 28 with built in platform!! But you can buy them for some great prices!!

THE BULL 08-22-2007 12:11 PM

28, 29, 30??? Adrenaline V30 by a loooong shot.

30ft adrenaline.................isnt that a 32ft boat. Hmmmmmmm thats a nice little marketing trick.

Different boats for different folks. If you looking at the 28-30 range get your list going and do some research here on OSO. Every boat has its strengths and weaknesses and they are different for every buyer.

Out of the ones you have listed - 29 fountain.

THE BULL 08-22-2007 01:43 PM

I dont understand the trick......a 32 labeled a 30 that sounds like a better deal to me?? I thought the trick was a 27 listed as a 31.....lmao

CAVelocity 08-22-2007 02:14 PM

The Velocity will be the fastest with the same power...... It certainly is not the best "wave-crusher," but how much wave-crushing can you really do in a single-engine boat?

The V-30 is really a 32 footer 31'9" running surface :party-smiley-048:

Hands down the best in it's class, fit, finish, style and performance (in all water types) !!!

CN24 08-22-2007 04:16 PM

Everyone will say their boat is the best. You need to ask people that have owned all those boats to get a true comparision.

I looked at all the 27-28-29 singles out there and ended up with a 28 Active Thunder. Has the deepest cockpit largest cabin and is a true 28 ft boat that thinks its a 32. I did alot of looking and research and I wanted deep free board--storeage space--useable cabin---speed---handleing---24 degree bottom for the rough and had to be different from all the other boats out there. And I got it all in one boat, thats not easy. Check'em out you won't be sorry

Depends on what type of boating you plan to do, and how much you have to spend or want to spend for such a boat :cool-smiley-011:

I've run my 29 SCARAB in the big blue pacific to and from Catalina, ran the Ski Race in two different classes and placed a podium finish the past 4 years, and done the SCOPE PR as well and this boat has performed for me in all aspects, for the money it is the best true offshore value, the boat has good lines and has a paint job and interior that does not look dated...just put a new trailer under it in 2005 and had the motor rebuilt last year...has about 20hrs on it now :cool-smiley-011: Not in any big hurry to sell, but if the right offer comes around then I'll let it go...asking 57obo :cool-smiley-011:

Here is a new Pantera 28' (without plaform) powered by a single 750 HP we delivered last month. The boat is located in Md. and owned by an Offshoreonly member.

Do a search on the best 28' V-Bottom poll.

If I can answer any questions on our custom boat line send me an email at [email protected]

BajaFresh 08-22-2007 09:24 PM

Man, that is a beautiful boat! Graffics are not too wild, very tasteful and I love the gray in the interior. How would that boat run with say, a pair of 525EFI's vs a single?

JO - PANTERABOATS 08-22-2007 09:38 PM

3 Attachment(s)
Thanks for the compliments. These grahics were simple and done in vinyl. They turned out very nice.

We delivered last year a Pantera 28' powered with twin 525 EFI's owned by another OSO member in Lake George N.Y. and he is seeing 96-97 MPH on GPS with labbed props.

This new 28' with the single 750 HP has run 87 MPH on GPS.Boat has a full cabin plus a 140 gallon gas tank.

Our Pantera 28' is a big 28' and as big as most 32' in the market. We built it with the best parts for rough water abuse. Put a life-time warranty on our glass work.

Here is a new Pantera 24' SE powered by a single 496 HO - 425 with CMI header upgrade. It looks like a scaled down 28'.This boat is located here in Miami. It was custom made to our customer's exact specifications. Black Gelcoat with custom vinyl "Black Pearl" graphics and embroidery.

And in another direction there is the TUFF 28, which is 28.4ft. Low, no cabin, not for the wife. But it is 91mph with a single 525EFI.

Jo - I hold my breath everytime I see one of your new boats. That boat is awesome and they just keep getting better.
